The library was quiet. It was very quiet. If you dropped a pen, it made no sound when it hit a floor. Lucille first thought she had suddenly gone deaf, but outside the library she could hear just fine.
At least she wouldn't be disturbed by sound, but she couldn't help thinking how she would be unable to hear if someone tried to sneak up on her.
