US Government - Period 4 - 03/15/06

"Morning," Hawkeye greeted everyone as they entered. He was wearing clothes, but they were obscured by his maroon bathrobe. He had a cup of coffee in his hand. "Professor Lyman's not back yet, so you're stuck with me. I won't subject you to what I think about the United States government, because chances are a lot has changed since my time. Today's project is an interactive one. Sign in and pick a state. Don't double up. You're now the Senator for that state. You've been elected by the people in your state to represent them on a national level. The issue of the day is that there's been a slump in the economy and we can't keep importing goods to save our collective tushes. The states have something that other states want. Interact with each other and, as representatives for your state, try to get as good a deal as you can out of your negotiations."

"Hmm." She rubbed at her neck. "I guess one or two superheroes would be useful. Maybe they could retire down there? Set up a health plan?"

"That sounds good to me," Peter said. "It's nice to have a plan for old age when you're a spandex wearer. It keeps you from wearing spandex that late in life."
