US Government - Period 4 - 03/15/06

"Morning," Hawkeye greeted everyone as they entered. He was wearing clothes, but they were obscured by his maroon bathrobe. He had a cup of coffee in his hand. "Professor Lyman's not back yet, so you're stuck with me. I won't subject you to what I think about the United States government, because chances are a lot has changed since my time. Today's project is an interactive one. Sign in and pick a state. Don't double up. You're now the Senator for that state. You've been elected by the people in your state to represent them on a national level. The issue of the day is that there's been a slump in the economy and we can't keep importing goods to save our collective tushes. The states have something that other states want. Interact with each other and, as representatives for your state, try to get as good a deal as you can out of your negotiations."

Duo laughs. "Snow? Don't think the surfers would like that much. Though it'd be funny to dump some on the folks from Orange County." He adds.

"Skiing is pretty big in California, right?" Marty asked. "Isn't Orange county a pretty well-to-do part of the state? You don't want to tick off people who donate to your campaign."

"Hmm." Duo considers. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to give the slopes a little added boost." He laughs again. "Heck yeah! Rich folks everywhere! Definitely be a campaign killer if they found out who was behind it." He grins, then adopts a mock business tone. "So. About this snow. Are we talking strange weather-in-a-bottle or is that industrial sector of yours gonna cook up snow machines?"

"I'm talking about a straight export of the wet stuff. If you want it in bottle form, I think we can make an arrangement," Marty joked. "But yeah I can have my industrial portion of the state make up some snow machines for you."

Duo laughs. "Alright, how about a little of both? Straight up snow and some machines on the side? I'll throw in a computer nerd or two with the oranges."
