Defending Yourself Against Magic | Friday, period 2

"Right! So." Bob grinned at them, which should have been their first clue. "It's time for your final. That means I get to see if you've actually learned anything."

He set up the Danger Shop like the city in the very first fight they'd had. "There will be attackers, and you'll need to defend yourselves, and all the other civilians in the area." Who appeared but stayed frozen in place for the moment. "However," he waved them at a box of small runestones, "everybody gets one of those. Some of them will tell you that you're actually working for the enemy. You're not required to tell anyone else."

His grin widened. "Enjoy."

Cassandra came prepared with... a sword and shield, of course. Just because she had learned other strategies during the course of this class did not mean she had to neglect what she knew best.

She picked up a runestone and got into position.

Mabel's runestone had been... not the one she was hoping for, but she was going to make the best of it basically the only way she knew how.

By attempting to steer the civilians out of harm's way, but in a way that, if people weren't paying attention too closely, actually created obstacles for the would-be heroes where they would have difficulty finding a way to outright attack the bad guys without there being unnecessary casualties.

Essentially, she was keeping low and playing 'well-meaning idiot' while engineering some pretty unfortunate bottlenecks. Because she didn't have magic, and she didn't want to outright attack anybody, but she was a Mystery Twin. She had 'being a devious little pain in the butt' down to an art form.

"Over here! There's cover from enemy fire over here!"

Good luck getting a clear shot with all those civilians blocking your path to your own cover, heroes.
