101 Ways To Survive In The Field, Tuesday
"So, this week we're going to talk about cold," Atton said, "And the next couple of weeks, too. Since this is a more in-depth class that already assumes you'll be out in the field for whatever reason, I figure we can stand to spend some time on it."
He was not, mind you, standing in his cold weather simulator. That could wait until next week.
Rather, they were standing in a large clothing store, with a whole host of different types of clothes sprawled all over.
"Today, we'll be talking about dressing to survive the cold," he said. "I want you all to pick out an outfit you think will keep you warm at minus thirty degrees celsius. Then we'll talk about what you did wrong."
He nodded at the class. "Go."

Pick Out Some Clothes
Pick an outfit that you think'll keep you warm in -30C (-22F) weather.
Then Atton will judge you.
Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
Chicagoa city that got stupidly cold in the winter. Now granted, they didn't always have a lot of clothing to choose from, but he knew the importance of layering.Shame hats made everyone look stupid, but the colder it got, the less he cared. So there he was, bundled up in black with as little skin showing as he could.
Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
And how the hell had he found that much black? Even Sith Assassins couldn't find that much black.
Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
All black. Dauntless boy had skills.

Noooo kidding.
Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
Though she'd at least figured that some kind of pants would be good.

RE: Pick Out Some Clothes
Above that on his lower body was a pair of thermal underwear and dress pants. On his upper body, he put on a dress shirt, a dress coat, and a parka with the hood up. For accessories, he had a bow tie, a fleece pocket square, a ski mask and goggles, thick mittens, thicker boots, and a picture on his phone of a large Saint Bernard on his phone with a classic barrel of brandy around her neck.
Yes, he had decided the dog's name would be Brandy. It was a time-saving decision so he would only have to call for one of them, since both would come running anyway. And then he would say, "Brandy, such a good dog," if this situation actually occurred.
Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
He had long since given up about Frank in general. Just... Frank's everything.
Except for that part, apparently.
RE: Re: Pick Out Some Clothes
He didn't respond about the pocket square because that was self-evident. Of course it was a pocket square. One that was appropriate for the weather at that!

Lecture Pt. 2
He'd put some clothes down on a table; he was pointing them out now.
"Thermal base layer," he said, pointing at a sweater. "Second fleece layer." He pointed at a thick shirt. "Then a jacket, and finally, you'll want something waterproof. A parka, if you're really being careful."
He cleared his throat. "Now, these aren't one-size-fits-all suggestions," he said. "You'll want to pay attention to the fabrics you pick. Is it waterproof? Is it lightweight? Is it breathable enough to keep you from overheating? And don't forget about your hands - you need at least two layers on that, too."
