It was a new semester, and Cosette was still brimming with eagerness about it.
. . . perhaps a touch less so after she got back from her class, but any residual frustration (and there hadn't been much at all, to tell the truth) dissipated quickly enough. There were books that needed looking after, tables and chairs that could use a bit of rearranging, and a small snugglepile of plush panda toys under the circulations desk.
As far as she was concerned that last item was a nice welcome-back present from the library, and she was taking it as one.
Also, it was adorable.
