Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Picnic-ing in January - still not the best idea ever! But there were tables and chairs set up in the sun, and a nice bonfire going, and plenty of warm food for everyone to encourage socializing for as long as possible.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Kira immediately wrapped her arms around herself, because noooo, cold. "I would definitely freeze to death. And it wouldn't even be pretty, so it wouldn't be worth it."

"You're plenty pretty," Kathy told her with an companionable nudge. "It's because you're so pretty that we can't afford to risk the frostbite, you know."

Kira blushed a little and nudged her back. "I'm surprised you're not going all out for your last welcome picnic. Or are you planning on staying over the summer?"

"Oh, I'll be here at least through the first summer term," Kathy said with a laugh. "I'll probably go home a few weeks before college starts, but I'm in no rush, you know? As much as I miss my little sister, I'm okay with having a few more weeks of not living with my parents."

Kathy had gotten used to freedom.

"Besides," she added with a wink. "You promised to skip the shirt for the June picnic. You think I'm going to miss that?"

"I need friends with worse memories," Kira said, trying not to smirk. "I just hope it's warm in June. And maybe there aren't so many students around."

"Pfft, worse memories my eye," Kathy told her. "I put that in my calendar. You're going to get a pop-up reminder that morning! And I'll be waiting outside your room to make sure you listen."

"The scary thing is, I can 100 percent picture that, reminder and all," Kira said, laughing. "Any guys doing it today are more desperate for attention than I would have thought. They all have nice personalities, shirtlessness isn't needed to impress any new people."

"So far, the only one I've seen shirtless is Face and he's got a girlfriend," Kathy said. "At this point, I think he might be doing it just to freak people out more than anything else!"

Or to get a rise out of Cassandra. Which, from what radio said, seemed to be how they flirted.
