Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Picnic-ing in January - still not the best idea ever! But there were tables and chairs set up in the sun, and a nice bonfire going, and plenty of warm food for everyone to encourage socializing for as long as possible.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Ringo laughed. "It is really pretty," she pointed out. "But also very cold."

She cocked her head slightly. "How are you managing?"

"Mostly by hidin' under my blankets and refusing to come out unless I gotta," Ada laughed. "And a lot of hot water bottles in my bed."

"Sounds like a good plan." Ringo grinned. "So I take it that means you haven't gotten into a snowball fight yet?"

Ada gave Ringo a thoroughly disgruntled Look. "A what? Why would I fight with snow? It's wet! An' cold!"

"True, but it means that when you land a good hit, people react in the most amusing ways." There was a lot of squealing, which Ringo thought was hilarious.

"If people are gettin' hit," Ada pointed out slowly, "--that means I might get hit, an' I don't fancy being cold an' wet."

"Well, it's a risk, yeah." Ringo pursed her lips. "Maybe you'd have more fun watching other people have a snowball fight? But then I guess you risk getting hit by a stray throw."

She shrugged. "Maybe your current plan is the best one, after all."

"You Townies sure have weird ideas of fun," Ada said, shaking her head. "Or maybe it's just more appealing if you have to deal with snow on a regular basis?"

"Well, look at it this way: if you're somewhere where it snows, you're going to see a lot more of it over the winter, so you might as well try to have fun with it."
