Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Okay, admittedly, having a picnic at the beginning of January wasn't the best idea the school had ever come up with. Thankfully, the weather was sort of agreeable today - it wasn't too chilly, the sun was out, and there were still pretty pockets of unmelted snow on the lawn.

In the middle of the lawn, a bonfire had been set up for warmth and light--mostly the warmth--and the tables and chairs had been set out to mostly be in the sun. There was a long table with a variety of moddable warm foods, and there was the usual table of nametags and lists to help folks find their siblings and roommates. With everything set up, it was time to welcome the new folks!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Is it?"

"As long as I'm not paying, sure!" Fred said.
imafuturist: (hmm)

"Uh huh." Tony narrowed his eyes at the guy. "And just who are you?"

"I'd be offended that you didn't recognize your old buddy Fred, but I'm guessing it's one of those alternate universe things," Fred said. "The name Boomerang doesn't ring a bell at all?"
imafuturist: (hmmm no)

"Not in the slightest." But he was definitely going to have JARVIS look.

"You probably won't find anything too interesting, unless you find boomerangs interesting," Fred said. Hey, maybe this guy's world was one where Fred got away with the drugs and the hookers and the bribes and had a successful baseball career, and absolutely no ties to boomerangs at all.
imafuturist: (I thought it went well!)

That was both the worst and best backstory ever.

"About as interesting as I find a bow and arrow." Because he was almost reminding Tony of a less colorful Barton.

"Really? You're going with a Hawkeye comparison?" Fred asked. The joking around had pretty much just been murdered. GOOD JOB, TONY. "This is why nobody likes you. Ugh. Hawkeye."
imafuturist: (so smirky)

"That's the reason?" REALLY? YOU DIDN'T HAVE A BETTER ONE? "I'll be sure to let him know you feel that way."

"Go right ahead. And while you're at it, tell him his costume is ugly, too," Fred said. "I don't even care which one it is, but especially if it has a Wolverine mask."
imafuturist: (will you look at that?)

"He gets more than one?" Oh god, he needed to know about Barton's bad fashion choices.

"See, this is why it pays to be friends with me. I'd show off press photos of the skimpy dress and headband he wore for a surprisingly long time," Fred said with a shrug. It was like a month. Which was STILL a surprisingly long time. "I know hookers who'd think that was tacky."
