"Well, since last class went so well," which was to say, few of you had any sense of self-preservation, but at least no one had died, "we'll be going with another simulation." Bob eyed them all. "There are a large number of supernatural beings out there of the canine persuasion. Most of them are not well-intentioned."

He wrote their names in the air as he said them. "The black dog, of which there are various subtypes, cŵn annwn, grim, werewolf and various other lycanthropes, cù sìth, and cerberus - which is a type of dog, not only one, despite the legends.

He described each in detail before turning on the simulation, which this week was low, rolling hills, scrub, and a few small sections of forest. There were also some caves in one area which they would probably discover on their own. "Head out. Observe them in their native habitats. Please, try not to antagonise them."

Kathy was diligently taking notes. And, unlike last week, she wasn't going to go out of her way to love on any of the beasties they were looking at.

She was, however, giving them the longing face of someone who really, really wanted a dog.

See, Dante had not done anything stupid last time because he didn't give a shit about horses. While he wasn't really a dog person either, they at least seemed like they'd be some fun.

Which was why he got to wandering around, and actually came to a stop when he saw the huge Cerberus.

Not because it was a huge Cerberus. But because--

"Hey, puppy, puppy!"

Try to antagonize the dogs, pfft. No, Merrill was going to try and make friends with all of them. This had wildly varying degrees of success, but she was in no way deterred from trying.

Should someone worry about how taken she seemed to be with the cŵn annwn? Probably.

Especially when she decided to start telling them stories about dogs guarding their clans from Fen'Harel. Which would probably be so, SO AWKWARD LATER ON.

Anders had been slobbered on by enough mabari to have a healthy sense of caution around wild dogs. But this time fascination outweighed caution, and he got close enough to a cluster of cù sìth to decide their puppies were freakishly adorable.

Terrifying. But adorable.
