US Government (Friday, March 3, 4th period) - MIDTERM

Sam the American Eagle is back and perched at the front of the classroom. There are papers face-down on every desk. Once everyone who is meant to be here is here, Sam makes a speech.

"Greeeeetings! It is I, Sam the American Eagle, here to teach you again about the fine American government. I hope you have studied, children, for this is your midterm. All good Americans take their midterms and even better ones do well in hopes that one day they will be able to serve the American people! You may turn over your paper and take the test."



1. What are the requirements of becoming the President of the United States of America?
a) Must have good looks and a healthy bank account.
b) Must be male and have an ability to pronounce basic words in the English language correctly.
c) Must be at least 35 years old and be a native citizen of the United States.
d) Must look good in the Air Force One windbreaker and legitimately win elections.

2. What powers does the President have?
a) Ability to command the United States Armed Forces, ability to issue executive orders, ability to veto
b) Ability to change the border at will, ability to take over other countries, ability to make really good pizza
c) Ability to spend the federal budget however he wants, ability to change the flag, ability to have people assassinated
d) Telepathy, invisibility, super-strength

3. What is a veto?
a) The President's way of saying no to a bill that has been passed by Congress.
b) The President's way of letting Congress know he hates them.
c) The guy who delivers pizza to the White House
d) Good with apple sauce.

4. What positions can the President appoint people to?
a) Closet-level positions, retail positions, military positions
b) Cabinet-level positions, judicial positions, diplomatic positions
c) None.
d) Whatever he wants.

5. Name five cabinet positions.
