"So that was a weekend," Josh said. "Wow, there were a lot of faces I'd completely forgotten about."

So he'd hidden, as one does.

"Anyway, you had a speech assignment for this week to tell us something about the history of the island that you learned this week, either through research at the library or from other sources like the radio or first-person accounts. You have fifteen minutes to astound me."

He sat back in his chair.

Tell us about the history of the island! What did you learn other than Yzma must remained fully clothed at ALL TIMES FOREVER.

Shockingly, Kathy's speech ended up being an indictment about the gremlins. Her two gremlin bites didn't factor into her speech at all, really.She'd been able to find plenty of information about what they'd gotten up to over the years and very little of it good. The trouble for Kathy wasn't making it to fifteen minutes, but keeping it down.

"And while we need to respect the gremlins as life possibly native to this island, that doesn't mean that we need to give them free reign to attack the residents, friends, and loved ones the way they have now. Actions should have consequences beyond the occasional apology and resulting feast. We live here, too, and have a right to be safe and sane! And if the gremlins won't police their own behavior, then maybe it's time that we stepped up and made them."

She stumbled and stuttered a lot less than she'd expected. Probably because she was still genuinely aggravated at the whole lot of them.
