Conspiracy Theories - Period 2, Wednesday

"Congratulations on making it through the summer," Wash said, slightly annoyed that it warranted that. But. You know. Aliens. "This is our last class until of the semester and I'd like to hear if you've learned something that doesn't involve conspiracy theories involving yourself."

Face. And Johnny. And Lottie a little. Okay, pretty much everyone.

"Hopefully whst youve learned is about taking these things with a grain of salt until more plausible facts come into play. We will discuss that rather than have a final lecture. Though we do have time for one last student presentation if Jasper would like."

This is what happens when a class is cancelled and messes everything up.

"I learned that sometimes it really is aliens," Kathy said, looking like she had a mouthful of lemon. But, you know, considering half the class had been kidnapped by aliens just two weeks ago, it merited saying.

"Ran out of classes," Kathy said with a shrug. "I was going to present on Martin Luther King Jr's assassination. His family actually won a suit against the government for the conspiracy."

"Uh, my conspiracy theory isn't about me," he started, standing up, tone cool. "Mine's about the show Murder, She Said. It tells the tale of the possibility of Jessica Fletcher actually being a serial killer and not a super sleuth."

There were reasons why he'd chosen this theory. Reasons that would make people laugh if they knew who he was. "It's completely bizarre that a regular citizen like Jessica could be at the scene of so many murders without being guilty. And yet, she's there and she manages to gather all the evidence she needs just by talking to people and snooping around. Not possible."

Jasper crossed his arms and continued, "No one questioned how Jessica got there. She had an English accent and but she never mentioned her home. Why'd she choose Cabot Cove? Because she's running from something. She's hiding her true self and keeping up her evil ways under the guise of a sweet old woman."

This was such a ridiculous theory and yet, it amused Jasper. "Besides, the murders follow her. When she’s in New York City for a hair appointment, a murder occurs. When she’s on a stop on her book tour, a murder mysteriously occurs. Perhaps, her skill set is not in securing evidence but in getting away with murder. She knows how to shift suspicion and hide murder weapons. Maybe her voracious reading habits include hypnotic suggestion? Jessica Fletcher isn't who she seems to be."

If Lottie had armor, she would absolutely wear it on the strangest of occasions. Just to make sure no one noticed her developing a pattern.
