When the students arrived, they'd find a bunch of rafts laid out, along with a table of fruity island-type drinks.

"So, I don't know about you guys, but after I've been kidnapped by aliens, exercise isn't my top priority," he said. "I think it's been a hell of a week for everyone, whether you were up there or down here, so we're going to pretend I said something really smart about mental fitness and not pushing yourself too hard, and you're just going to float and swim and relax today. Hopefully, no one has a problem with that?"

Kathy hadn't slept all that well last night, so she was only too happy to slather herself in suntan lotion and lay out in the sun for an hour. She had a book to read, but even the fluffiest of fantasy novels felt like too much work right now.

The opportunities to be an unrepentant slacker were far and few in between. Kathy was not going to squander this one.

Eric had missed just about all the excitement thanks to his grandmother having what was generously being deemed a 'health scare' last week, and his subsequent return home to help his mother deal with making arrangements for her care and such.

So, yeah, he hadn't had to deal with being kidnapped or anything but his nerves were frazzled all the same and so he'd take a drink complete with adorable tiny plastic dinosaur, thank you.
