Creative Inspirations, Monday, Period One
//I hope you all brought warm clothing,// Jono said, only a touch abruptly once it looked as though everyone who was coming to class today had arrived. So sue him, he was having one of those Mondays. //Because once we step through that portal, you're all going to feel a bit of a chill.//
He'd been a snake all weekend. He didn't have to be chipper today if he didn't want to.
Anyway, he'd probably mellow out some once they were someplace less hot, since he was standing out here in his usual leather and he was pretty done with summer in general, by this point.
"We're experiencing a bit of natural beauty again today," Hannibal said. "Specifically, an area near Mutnovsky volcano in Russia. Because of the unusually hot summer, the caves nearby, formed by ice, are large enough to enter. The lava and ice together create rather spectacular formations."
//It's quite surreal,// Jono added, shoving his hands in his pockets as the portal appeared nearby. //And, I understand, a bit awe-inspiring. We're going to have to ask you all to not wander off too far, of course, but a bit of exploration of these caves is understandable. Especially in those areas where the sun comes right in through the ice...//
He'd only seen pictures thus far, but hell, even Jono could appreciate when nature did a thing that was pretty damn neat.
//Remember to keep your hands off of the ice, though. Please don't do anything that might ruin what we're looking at for anybody else who might come to see what we're going to see. That isn't our beauty to spoil. Take pictures if you wish, shine lights wherever you like, but leave these caves as pristine as they were when we arrived, or there'll be words.//
And really, nobody could do words like these two.
"Our guide speaks a little English; if you know Russian, that will help." Hannibal did. Of course. "Otherwise, if you have difficulties, ask. And if he says a place is off-limits, it is. I don't want to explain to your parents that you fell through melted ice into a volcano."
[OCOC: Open! Have at!]
