Clint had hoped that the name of the class would give everyone a hint that they'd be meeting out on the beach each week, but just in case, he'd also sent out ~~handwavey~~ messages to tell everyone where to meet. When it looked like everyone had arrived, he gave them all a wave."Hey guys. I'm assuming everyone who's here is signed up for Beach Fitness. If you're not, I don't really mind so feel free to stick around if you want to. For those of you I haven't met, I'm Clint Barton, and I'll be your teacher, although I expect this to be more fun than a whole lot of me lecturing at you like a real teacher. To start us out, I wanted to get an idea of what kind of shape everyone's in."

Clint pointed out four orange cones that had been set up in the sand, two by where they were gathered and two farther down the beach. "This is just a basic 100 meter run, but if you've never run in sand before, you might find it different than your typical run around town. I want everyone to take a turn and see how fast you can run it, and then you can hang out in the water when you're done. Once everyone's finished, we can do introductions. Hopefully you're not tired of that yet." If they were, well, traditions were important.

Jasper wouldn't say he was in immaculate shape but he could deal with a run across the beach. The sand made him think he was going to twist an ankle at any point, though.

Hanna went fast enough that the camera operators of Baywatch would be getting sand in the lens more than anything else. It *was* different though, and she had to work up to get to that speed.

Eleanor was glad she'd worn a t-shirt and shorts over her bathing suit. (The bathing suit was her hoping for the best, really.) She popped off her shoes, wanting to feel the sand between her toes, and gave it a good run. Not really showing off all she could do, but getting a good sprint going anyway.

Oh, running. One of the things Kathy would never, ever get tired of. She started further away from her classmates so she wouldn't fling sand at them and then took off.

100 meters wasn't far enough away for her to get up to her top speed, but she was at the finish line in under five seconds.

Sorry, Usain. But at least she'd never be doing a run like that where anyone would be recording times for Guinness?

The water is really nice!

Jasper waded into the water, letting it cool off his feet and ankles but didn't go so far as diving in.

And this was where optimism paid off. Eleanor was going to stay in the water until someone made her come out again.

Kathy was all too happy to play in the water for awhile. Though--hmm. She should probably learn to swim sometime.

So Clint knows what to call you in the future!

"I'm Jasper," he said, keeping it short and sweet. "Hey."

"Hanna. I've been here since January," she added, although she was pretty sure she'd at least run into most of the people in the class by now.

"I'm Eleanor," she said, nodding to people. "Eleanor Holloway. It used to be Lamb."

Just to stave off any confusion there.

"I love the beach," she added.

"Umm, hi," Kathy said with a small wave. "I'm Kathy."

*FACEPALMS FOREVER*
