Yeah, it sounded weird to Victor, too, but he was trying to take care of his man, dangit. Walter's pride could fuck off for all he cared.

"Actually, I had a call from Alfred. He has to go to the mainland today, so I'm going to go down to keep an eye on the restaurant this evening."

Walter braced himself for what was bound to be Victor's less than happy reaction.

Victor twisted his lip, but nodded. "If Alfred think you can do it, then you probably can. But if you need any help at all you call me, okay? I'm not gonna check up on you except to get some free food yum but I trust you that you won't do anything to hurt yourself."

Then, he smirked and gave a knowing, miscevious look. "Remember, we still have that date when you're better."

"If you want to come down before it gets dark to have some dinner, I'm sure Alfred wouldn't mind." Alfred had really grown on him, which was the last thing he would have expected after their first meeting.

"And you can make sure I'm not doing any acrobatics that would interfere with our future date." No blushing. Really. It was just warm.
