Hardison was facepalming when the students entered the Danger Shop today, but they could be excused for not noticing. Instead of being greeted by their post-apocalyptic dorms, they were found themselves standing in a huge, brightly-colored arena, filled to the brim with cheering...gummy bears?

"Sup," Hardison greeted, shoulders slumped. "So...somethin's goin' on with the Danger Shop an' I don't even know, y'all." In the center of the arena was a boxing ring, with a huge chocolate chip cookie off to one side, posing for the crowd. "Like, literally do not even know. This ain't what I programmed an' it don't matter how much I hack or how much code I go through. It's just...this kinda stuff." Then, wincing, he added, "Also, the door y'all came through? Good luck findin' it again. We seem to be stuck here. I'mma see if I can't try to kill the program manually, but while I do...?" He shrugged. "Supposedly, there's some wallet around here that'll let us get out? I dunno, I wasn't payin' attention to the intro. But if y'all find it, maybe the program will end all by itself." He pointed to the collection of luchadore masks. "Put one of those on an' hop into the ring, if you wanna try it out."

About to fight!

Or, more likely, boggle at your surroundings; a pastel Thunderdome of candy. It's all very weird.

Once you're in the ring, you can throw yourself at Chocolate Chunk. If you do, you'll actually go flying out of the ring and end up bouncing your way through the crowd, landing on fleeing gummy bears, stealing tiny airplanes and rocket cows and police cars, slamming through doors and going through various environments until you smash through a solid metal door at the end to find a plain leather wallet. If you hit the ground too many times and lose your speed, you end up carried back to the ring to try all over again.

So, once the wallet has been snagged, the gummy world sim dissolved in a rain of ones and zeroes, but rather than arriving back at Hardison's sim or even an empty Danger Shop, students would find themselves on a front lawn of a house in the suburbs, with several creepy zombies milling about in front. Fortunately, a neighbor named Crazy Dave (you can call him Crazy Dave!), is only more than happy to offer some advice:

"Zombies comin'! Better use your plants to keep 'em away from your house! Otherwise they eats your brains! Eats 'em!" And then Crazy Dave wandered off, leaving the class to stare at the large collection of seeds they could plant on the squares of the lawn.

Hardison was trying very hard not to just slam his head onto his laptop repeatedly. "So, okay, zombies. That's just...a thing. Let's see if we can't hold 'em off long enough for me to fix this damn program, okay? Use whatever powers an' weapons you want, an', uh, plants I guess?"

"YES!" Hardison said, just as the last zombie fell under the onslaught. "A'ight, got this. I'm killin' the program now, we still got twenty minutes of class left, that should be enough to--"

The program ended and a third began, but it was once again not the Dorm's sim that Hardison had been using. Instead, the class found themselves in a heavily-pixilated version of Washington DC. The buildings were crumbling and many stood destroyed, while yet more zombies shambled about. Don't listen to the words your teacher is saying, class, on the off-chance he teaches you some swears you didn't already know. A message is looped on repeat, a pleasant woman's voice informing everyone that the city is lost and a nuclear airstrike has been ordered to destroy the city, please everyone calmly evacuate the city and it's surrounding environs for their own safety.

There are several cars nearby and a man nearby offering to sell supplies and share advice.

Get into groups, choose a car, and make it across the country without starving, dying of something horrible, or getting eaten by zombies!

Once everyone successfully made it to their destination, Hardison was able to manually crash the last sim, leaving them in the empty Danger Shop. With, roughly, three minutes of class time remaining.

"Sorry about class this week," he said, looking agitated. Computers weren't supposed to do this! Not to him! "We'll come back next week an' pick up from where we left off. Let me know if there's anythin' else you wanna do for next week, otherwise, have a great weekend."

Assuming she's not in the thick of things in each sim!

While he uses every hacking trick in his book to try to get them back to something normal.

Busy weekend plus Remicade left me too stupid for a regular class, so have a cracktastic one instead! Hopefully this made sense? Have fun and good luck!

Tali still wasn't entirely convinced the Danger Shop was harmless, but . . . well, it hadn't tried to kill them yet, so that was something, and strange was an improvement over homicidal.

She thought.

Anyway, she'd be eyeing the entire setup with bemused suspicion from behind her mask.

Raven Darkholme

Yes, Raven was absolutely staring around. And trying not to laugh at the teacher's facepalming.

Well, he couldn't complain about them not planning well enough, this week.

Raven ended up back in the ring three times.

Possibly purposefully.

Bouncing was pretty fun, okay?

Raven was definitely throwing herself into the thick of things pretty often. But you could catch her here and there.

"Okay, so, zombies," Raven said. "But anyone else wondering why we're listening to a guy called Crazy Dave?"

"I liked the zombies that could be fought with plants better."

Jasper Dent

Jasper really didn't know what to think of getting bounced onto freaking gummy bears. Billy used to buy those for him before he'd gone and offed some poor person.

It was weird but...kind of fun. Maybe.

"And why isn't he gonna help with a zombie infestation?" Jasper wondered, frowning. "Can we follow him since it looks like he's got some info."

After the bouncing, this wasn't as much of a trip for Jasper. If he was gonna get a car, maybe he'd just drive off into the proverbial sunset or something.

Hanna Heller

That flying through the air? Way, way too fun.

"It could be worth a shot," Raven said, giving Jasper an 'after you' gesture.

"And why does he have a saucepan on his head?" Hanna wondered. "...these are the slowest zombies ever."

DAMMIT, NU. I HAD MANAGED TO KICK THE BURRITO BISON HABIT.

"More plants," Hanna said, giggling as she collected her purse. "That part was very fun."
