The moral of the story here was that Cosette should never be allowed to browse the Apple app store late at night, because that was how she got sucked into silly games that involved matching vegetables with happy faces for hours on end.
Which would also account for why she was somewhat . . . less industrious than usual today. Oh, she still got all her tasks done, but in between, where she'd usually have a stack of books to read, she was poking at her phone and occasionally frowning hard when she failed a level.
Who knew smiling vegetables could be that frustrating?
