Today's Junk Food: Seafood of all kinds. Most of it's deep fried. There are also rumballs, because Ted figured he'd get fired if he brought real rum for the kids. For himself? Weeell...

"Afternoon dudes!" Ted greeted. "I'm not going to bore you with a lecture today, so I'll just say a few things. We're learning about songs of the sea. Pirates and sailors sing sea shanties and make up tunes to keep themselves busy on those long voyages. After all, what else would they do?" Ted looked quite innocent as he said this. Please don't tell him what pirates and sailors might do otherwise.

Project: "Anyway, this week's classes are for working on a project. Grab a partner or trio and come up with your own sea shanty. The tune doesn't matter. It just comes along on its own. The lyrics are the important part. You've got today and tomorrow to work on it. Have fun, dudes!"

Marty looks down at the plate in amazement.

"This is squid? Whoa."

"Eep! You didn't know that's what calamari is?" Chloe looks sincerely apologetic. "I'm sorry."

Marty seems to be staring at the plate a little too intently.

After a moment he finally says, "This is *really* good squid."

"Um, that's good?" Chloe says uncertainly.

She watches Marty as he stares at the plate. "Just out of curiosity, are you feeling all right?"

"I really hungry," Marty says continuing to stare at the plate.

"Well, perhaps you should try picking the food up and putting it in your mouth." Chloe snickers. "I've heard the whole eating process works better that way."

Marty leans toward Chloe. Maybe a bit too close.

"You sure you don't want any?" he whispers with a glazed over expression on his face.

Chloe sits back as far as she can in her seat, now officially weirded out. "Yeah, I'm sure. Very sure. Completely sure even. Are you sure you're all right? You didn't get bitten by a gremlin, did you?"

Marty giggles at Chloe then stops suddenly portraying a somewhat normal face.

"No.'

Then he starts giggling again.

"You don't honestly expect me to believe that this is your normal state of being, right?"

Suddenly Marty begins to have epiphanies. Very loud epiphanies. "Well what is a normal state of being? What is being? Can one say that in this world that state of being is truly normal? What about Fandom? Is this normal? If so, is the rest of the world really dull? And if it's dull, can it be sharpened by a knife?"

Oh dear god, Marty's lost his mind, Chloe thinks. She doesn't really care that Marty can probably hear that thought at this point. "Marty, ssshh!" she whispered quickly. "We're in class! Are you stoned?" As soon as she said that, she blinked, and facepalmed at him. "Oh god, Marty."

"Whoa!" Marty leaned in closer to Chloe. "You know what that means? I'm totally a mental physic."

He then blinked. "Why do people keep saying that I'm stoned?"

"Because you're acting strange and un-Martylike?"

Screwing with Marty at this point would be wrong. Wrong and bad. And yet, Chloe looks at him and thinks, Or maybe you really are a mental psychic. That would be cool.

"OR! OR! Maybe I am mentally cyclic," Marty said nodding emphatically. "That would be cool."
