Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 16: Quiz 2, Period 1, 03.01.06

[OOC: Same story as usual with quizzes: get it done by the next class. And, hey, the next class is a week and a half away. Slowplay yay. Oh, and no, I don't expect "Talk to Professor Tick" as an answer to #1. I personally think that should be Step 5. And I know how to spell "should." It has a "u." Shut up. Class Info Post.]

The Tick was at the front of the class holding some paper.

"Hello, class! If you'll look at the front of the room, you'll see your midterm an essay grades posted except not just yet in terms of the midterm grades. Very good work by most of you. Others amongst you are being hurt by spotty attendance. Please nip that problem in the bud, chums!"

"Anyway, today we're having a pop quiz. It hopefully won't take you the full period to get through, so you can have some time to yourselves heading into break."

"For those of you going away next week, I wish you safe passage and a good time! For those of you sticking around, I wish you a lack of invading monsters."

"And, Logan? I understand you're doing your makeup assignment tomorrow, correct? Have fun with that!"

"Okay, class, get to work!"

1. If you were planning on making a vigilante strike against the forces of evil, what would be the first two steps of your plan? Please assume this to be a general plan that can be used in a variety of situations.

2. Please describe how you would serve Justice when equipped with a team of any four of the following animals: a stickbug, a seahorse, a puffin, a puppy, a tiny elephant, a meerkat, a marmoset, and a giraffe.

3. Write a metaphor about the Camera of Justice.

EC. Answer #2 with 6 animals for 1 EC point. All 8 animals will earn you +2 EC.

1. Reconsider: is there some other way of dealing with this? Is there a government agency, covert or overt, who are likely to be taking action before I am? If the answers are no, then reconnaisance. Find out all you can about their lives, their security, their abilities, their reactions.

2. A stickbug can be thrown at evildoers. Many fear stickbugs. A puffin can be used to distract them, because they are desperately cute. A puppy-- well, either the cute thing, or the ability to make a mess within moments, in order to trip up or gross out evildoers. A tiny elephant is even cuter than a puffin, but can also haul away evidence and small objects from the scene of a crime. Meerkats can be rigged with video cameras, and trained to go into a building to surveille potential evildoers. And a large giraffe is an excellent way to start a traffic jam, thwarting the evildoers' escape. [6 animals; 1EC point possible if given credit]

3. The Camera of Justice takes snapshots of the world as it is: the good who attempt to live within the freeze-frame the law and consideration of others, the bad who attempt to duck out of the range of the shot, and the gray, who are doing things you can't quite make out in the blurred background. Justice puts them all in perspective, so you can see whre they are in relation to each other, and realize that at any one moment, whoever is taking the picture is putting their own interpretation on Justice.
