Class today was to meet in the Danger Shop; when they got there, they'd find themselves in a bright little gazebo on a sunny day, though there was an odd fog concealing the landscape

"Welcome!" Bob grinned. "We could probably have done this outside, but...well, the safety protocols seemed like a good idea." And then he'd gotten a bit creative.

"Today, you've got a different sort of equipment." Which Anders had probably noticed was suspiciously light as he carried the box from Portalocity. Bob waved at the box, inside of which were brightly coloured life-vests. "Everybody put one on, and then your task for the day is to race to the other gazebo exactly like this one on the far side of the room. Doctor Lecter kindly ~~was nagged into~~ donated chocolates for you all to share once you arrive. Winner gets the best choices," he pointed out.

"Winner won't necessarily be the fastest, though" he said, grinning. "You've also got to find your way there." He gestured and the fog lifted, to show a hedge wall several stories high. "The hedges form a maze. You'll have to think to get through it. Oh," he added as if in afterthought, "and it's three-dimensional. So you'll want to work on your flying."

He smiled at them all. "Any questions?"

Once he pings in!

Anders was more interested in flying than in TA'ing, truth be told, but he was around. And probably up for another race.

"Anders!" Why yes, that was a happy sibling flying towards him. "Hi, hi!"

And if he made no move to stop her or get away, she was going to do her level best to hug him when she got close enough.

"Hi," Anders said, returning the hug as best he could given his feet weren't on the ground. "This was an amazing class, wasn't it?"

"We got to fly!" she said blissfully. "I crashed into walls!"

Alluka wasn't great at flying, but she'd had tons of fun!

"I crashed into the ceiling," Anders informed her, grinning. "I was trying to avoid a wall and went too high."

He also was on team Can't Fly, Had Fun Anyhow.

That was the best team to be on, clearly!

"It's hard to stop," she said, giggling. "Did the ceiling hurt a lot?"

Anders had to consider it. "I wouldn't run into it for fun," he decided. "but there are worse things, aren't there? Like not flying at all."

"About the same as the walls then," she decided, nodding.

A beat.

"Why can't we keep the flying?"

"I'm not sure," Anders admitted. "Bob said we could do it outside, didn't he? So the vests should work anywhere. Maybe they're too expensive to keep?"

"Maybe I should ask him," Alluka said, doing a spin mid-air. "And, and maybe get to fly outside!"

She might never come down again!

"You should," Anders decided, trying a spin of his own and liking it so much he did another. "Tell him that if he lets me keep mine too, I'd go flying with you."

And that meant that she had to copy him, of course, with another spin of her own.

"You would?!" she asked excitedly.

"Of course!" Anders told her, and now he was floating on his back in midair as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "It's educational, isn't it?"

"No!" Alluka said, laughing. "It's fun!"

And fun couldn't be educational, right? Right?

"It can be both," Anders suggested, making lazy backstroke motions. "Fun while it's educating us."

"I guess so," she said, but with the air of someone who thought that sounded really boring.

So Alluka changed the subject.

"I have a present for you!"

"You do?" Aners asked, rotating in mid-air to face her. He sounded, and was, surprised. "I wasn't expecting anything like that. Thank you."

She giggled. "You can't say thank you without knowing what it is!"

Anders was the silliest sometimes!

"I'll go get it!" And... off she went, flying over to where her stuffed bunny was sitting on the ground (it hadn't wanted to go flying) with a package on it's lap.

"So it's from you and the bunny?" asked Anders, with a raised eyebrow. He couldn't imagine what it was.

"From me!" she said, a little indignant. "My bunny doesn't give anyone presents but me!"

Because it was hers. So there!

But then she was all smiles again as she brought him the package and held it out for him to take. It wasn't very heavy, and was rather sloppily wrapped since Alluka didn't have much experience at wrapping things, but as far as she was concerned, she was handing over a priceless treasure. "I hope you like it," she said, all big eyes and trying not to be nervous.

However nervous she was,it would be allayed as soon as Anders got the package open. He broke out in the biggest grin of his life and squeezed the little green cat to his chest.

"You got me a toy cat!" he said, delighted. "How adorable. I love it, Alluka."

[OOC: Early bedtime for meeee.]

"So, so you wouldn't be lonely!" Because, sure, he had a real cat, but stuffed toys were where it was at as far as her understanding of the world went. She clapped her hands together and beamed. "Yay! You like it! Mabel made it."

[Sleep well!]

"Oh, Dipper's sister?" Anders said. He'd snuggled the cat protectively to his chest without realizing it. "I have to thank her, too. Nobody's ever made a cat for me before."

He didn't have Alluka's appreciation for stuffed animals, but the fact she'd thought enough about him to get a gift he'd like -- that was precious.

He was still holding the cat closely when he asked, "Does it have a name?"

She clapped her hands together and shook her head.

"No! You have to name it, because that's very important," Alluka said seriously. "Because, because if it tells you it's name, that means it loves you, and not all of them like to share their name with everyone, so you have to wait and earn it's love."

Or Anders had to name it, but that just meant that the animal had told him it's name, really.
