Tactics and Teamwork, Wednesday - Second Period
Hopefully the class was getting used to the drab environment picked by Agent Washington for their classroom. Because it didn't seem like it would be changing anytime soon.
"You already know the drill. Laps."
Embrace the cardio, kids. Embrace it.
"This weekend was... a thing. That happened. Whether it was good for you or bad, it's over with and time to get back to work. Today is going to be about evasive maneuvers. Learning to avoid getting shot."
Wasn't that fun?
"Two teams against each other with a third party in play." Meaning the teacher. "And I'll even sweeten the deal. If your team manages to hit me, you don't have to run laps next week."
Sadly it would be pretty difficult to accomplish without getting shot first. But the hope was alive!
"Get started."

Combat
Re: Combat
Of course, while she'd gotten more familiar with guns, and gotten sort of used to the armor, she was still a total newbie.
Re: Combat
Wash took a leisurely moment to line up a shot that sent yellow paint splattering onto the floor in front of her as a warning.
Re: Combat
So she grabbed at the top of the short wall she was next to and tried to scramble over it so that it would be between her and where the shot had come from. Or, at least, where she thought the shot had come from.
Re: Combat
Figuratively speaking with the flying and sll.
Re: Combat
Oh, right. Cover! That was a useful thing. Maybe she could just stay there for a few seconds and get her bearings. Come up with a plan, even.
Re: Combat
Re: Combat
This time when Ringo dived out of the way, she didn't get as far as she'd intended, and when she rolled to her feet it wasn't behind the next piece of cover. Oh, no. She was totally standing out in the open.
Re: Combat
Washington sighed, lifting the paintball gun to fire two quick rounds right at her chest in rapid succession.
Re: Combat
She stamped her foot in frustration, and finally managed to spot where Agent Washington actually was.
"Well," she sighed, "maybe next time."
Probably not.
Re: Combat
Re: Combat
Hopefully.
Re: Combat
Holding her paintball gun at the ready, Kathy stayed low, looking for an opening. Or an opponent. Or both, really.
Re: Combat
Once again, he took his time lining up a shot to just miss Kathy.
Re: Combat
There was the splat of paint at Kathy's feet and she instinctively rolled backwards, assuming the next shot would try to lead her a bit. She ducked behind a crate, then peered around the side to see if she could get a good sightline on whoever was shooting at her.
Re: Combat
"Good use of cover."
Did you know the helmets could broadcast without giving away positions? They thought of everything!
Re: Combat
Still, she'd seen a flash of gray and yellow from that way, so maybe she could fire off a couple of shots in that direction to keep him down? Not that she expected to hit him with that, but it might give her long enough to get up to his recently abandoned perch--or another one similar to it.
She popped up from behind her crate and immediately dove to the right. Then hoping she'd get the element of surprise, she began firing in the direction she'd last spotted Washington heading, all while running towards one of crates that was up towards the ceiling. There wasn't enough room to get up to her max speed, but she was running a comfortable forty miles an hour before she got to a specific point and bounced, like a Gummy Bear on steroids.
Re: Combat
It helped when you'd seen Agent Carolina in action to handle this sort of thing.
Re: Combat
Sometimes bouncing could be a real pain in the butt.
Still, she was able to use her momentum to kick off against a crate pressed against the wall and bounce over to the left, ending up perched on the edge of a crate about five feet in the air.
Not quite the vantage she was looking for, but it would do.
Re: Combat
Literally.
As usual, the first sound of a shot had him hitting the ground like one of those weird fainting goats.
Re: Combat
Just a hint.
Re: Combat
(So, never)
"Gaaaah," was all he managed in reply.
