US History (Wednesday, March 1, 7th period) - MIDTERM

When everyone was settled and enough time had passed, Lord John spoke to them. "You may begin work."

5. Built a cabinet! But not of the furniture kind! Like, the advisory kind!
6. The Alien and Sedition Acts, which are totally no about sedating me, but are equally uncool.
7. Some Baptists named a really huge piece of cheese after him! That makes anyone awesome!
8. War of 1812! The Canadians burned the White House! It became the very charred house instead! And then it was rebuilt! Yes!

5. Stepped down after two terms.
6. Alien and Sedition acts.
7. He bought Louisiana. That's a big place to buy. And the land was totally happy to be bought. ...I think.

8. The War of 1812:
In 1812, Madison was mad,
He was the president, you know
He thought he’d tell the British where they ought to go
He thought he’d invade Canada,
He thought that he was tough
Instead they went to Washington....
And burned down all his stuff!

5. Created the cabinet. Which is way different than a caberet. Thought I think the caberet would be more fun to watch on C-SPAN.
6. The Alien and Sedition Acts... and yet the government still denies all knowledge of extra-terrestrials. Please!
7. He talked the French out of frakking huge piece of land for very little money. It was called the Louisianna Purchase. Now it's called 'most of the southern U.S.'
8. The Industrial Revolution allowed things to be made for cheap. This allowed corporations to grow bigger - make more profits - and for people to buy more stuff for the same amount of money. It also allowed us to make new stuff available to the masses faster.

5. President Washington established the first cabinet and put people in it who had different views on how the country should be heading and then they in turn established political parties. Jefferson with the beginnings of the Democratic party and Hamilton with the Federalists.

6. The Sedition Act which makes it wrong to criticize the government. It's completely wrong and horrible and is just bad karma.

7. Because Prof. Lyman likes him best? Lewis and Clark, of course. It was the greatest expedition, with great attention made to making friends with other cultures and not being all hateful and grabby with land.

8. Blair turns in an essay on women's rights.

5. Built a cabinet or something. Maybe with the wood from the cherry tree.
6. Alien and Sedimant act
7. He wasn't Adams
8. The Industrial Revolution was cool because it gave us actual technology, and gave us a ton of stuff that made things easier. Without machines and stuff jobs took longer and it started the way to text messaging and phones and online shopping (but only from sites you trust because sizing is HARD sometimes, even when you're a size 2), so it's all good.
