School Auditorium: MSND rehearsal (4-7 PM FHT)

There are snacks and assorted beverages on a table to the side, and the house lights are up.

The stage lighting is still a little beyond Rory, so the simple overhead fluorescents will have to do for the day.

And by the door, there's a sign-in sheet.

Actors? Your stage awaits.

[If you comment before my OCD threads are up, I'll get Callisto to burninate you. OCD is up! Comment away! And here is a helpful link to the full text of the play, and here is the cast list, which will be a bit revised today, yes.]

"I'm glad I'm not the only one," Allie said with a nervous smile.

"Well, we'll just stick together and give each other support," Lana said firmly.

"Sorry I'm late." Parker settled in next to Lana and Allie, and rolled her eyes. "Ladies of the court."

"My queen," Lana said with a little curtsey.

Parker smirked, and inclined her chin regally. "Cobweb. Right? Or are you Moth? I need to get that straight pretty damn fast, I think."

"Cobweb," Lana replies. "I don't know if we've ever actualyl formally met. I'm Lana Lang. I, um... sent you an email yesterday about the whole strange abilities thing?"

"Right, I got that. Sorry I didn't respond to it yet, but I appreciated the head's up, especially about when it started." Parker cocked a sardonic eyebrow in sympathy. "God, your power sucks. Literally."

Lana rolls her eyes. "Tell me about it. Even something as basic as drinking a glass of water isn't so simple anymore."

"I can't decide if yours is better or worse than Vala's. She got stuck with everything tasting like chicken." Parker shook her head. "I have to check in with Bridge, but so far, nothing new to tell you guys, aside from the fact that half the school population is suffering from the same thing."

She shrugged. "Right. We're missing a couple fairies and Oberon," Parker paused, then went on, "But I think we could start as soon as Puck gets here, at least? I know Zero's been studying her part already. Unless you two want to practice flying in here."

"Chicken? That sucks too. But you know, I think I'd pick that over this. At least then maybe I wouldn't be dreaming in chemical formulas. I really just want it to *end*." Lana shakes her head.

She glances over at Allie. "I'm ready whenever," she says.

"I think I just saw Quinn come in. Since she signed on underneath me. We'll have enough to start then, I think. Any preference, other than not hanging from wires?"

"I don't know." Lana frowned a little. "I guess I always sort of imagined it more like flitting." She went back a few paces and returned in steps that were ballet-like, almost floating over the ground.

"Something like that," she said, suddenly feeling a little self-conscious.

"You've had dance training." Parker cocked an eyebrow from the wings. "You're quite graceful." She smiled, then whirled and twirled her way across the stage, faster than Lana had, a bit more forceful, stopping right in front of the other girl with a wicked smile.

"I'm right here."

Parker didn't flinch or yell this time, but she did palm her face. "Of course you are. Oberon's around here somewhere. We grabbed stage left, I guess that means you're stage right?"

"Oh, sure." Zero headed toward stage right, hoping to encounter Lee along the way.

Parker's not sure why anyone would be nervous about this, but she's willing to be semi-encouraging. "You're Allie, right? I think we've met at the clinic? At least you guys are in such a group, you can't screw up so anyone really notices."

"Yeah, and you're... Parker?" she asked with a nervous smile. "Have you ever done anything like this before?"

"Smaller-scale stuff. Acting class type of things at my last school. Not an actual play." Parker looked bemused. "Don't tell me you're one of the people who got auditioned against her will, too?"

Re: SCENE II. Another part of the wood.

[identity profile] allie-cameron.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Allie gave Parker a weird look. "People got auditioned against their will? How does that work?" She shook her head. "No, I decided it would be good for me to get involved in something and meet more people."

"Shapeshifters and meddling pirates. They're stuck with it now, though." Parker cocked her head, studying Allie, then said, "Well, if this is going to be the debacle I suspect, you're going to get to know people real quick."

Re: SCENE II. Another part of the wood.

[identity profile] allie-cameron.livejournal.com 2006-03-02 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Something about the way Parker said that made Allie a little nervous. "Well, that'll be good, right?" she asked.

"Did you actually see the Christmas Pageant?"

Re: SCENE II. Another part of the wood.

"No, I missed it," Allie admitted. "Were you in it?"

Parker chortled. "No, thank God. It was everyone who'd done something to earn detention that month. Angel fell down from the rafters shouting BEHOOLLLLLD and that was the *least* of the problems." She shrugged. "Still. We'll have more time to practice. Hopefully no one will drop us?"
