Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2015, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]

Right after sunset, to make sure all types of guests could safely attend, the ceremony for graduation was ready to go. The lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, creating safe paths for everyone to get to the seating area. There were blue and gold streamers flapping peacefully in the breeze, and of course, the makeshift paths were covered in glitter.

Look, if the supply wasn't going down, Zoe was just going to embrace the glitter madness for the sake of her own personal sanity.

Congratulations, Class of 2015! You made it to graduation day! Now you just had to get through the ceremony. At least nothing looked oddly out of place this year?

Yeul wriggled her toes as she got settled in her own chair. Her feet didn't dangle off the edge, and she couldn't see over the backs everyone else's heads but that was alright.

Just getting to listen was pleasing enough.

"I do not remember how many graduates there were going to be this year," Yeul admitted to Liara. "Will it matter?"

"Not terribly, I believe," Liara said quietly. "Unless whatever happens will be harder than contain than in previous years."

"Nothing happening would be best, wouldn't it?" Yeul asked. "Though there is nothing we can do about if something will or won't happen."

"Should something happen and it expand beyond the stage," Liara said, tilting her head, "I will remove us from the premises."

She didn't exactly want a fight with Caius, after all.

And Caius would be terribly, terribly angry if Yeul got hurt.

"If you insist," Yeul said placidly, since getting hurt or being in the middle of an invasion did... not actually bother Yeul at all.

"I would," Liara said.

Her voice was light, but the sentiment very clearly wasn't.

Yeul looked up and giggled.

"Soon you will sound even more like Caius," she said, smiling.

Liara let out a soft, slightly embarrassed laugh. "Is it that bad?"

"I do not think it is a bad thing," Yeul said reassuringly. "But you are rather beginning to echo him."

"We want to keep you safe," Liara said. "It is not such a terrible notion to share, no."

"I know that," Yeul replied quietly.

But she didn't really understand it, which was a different issue all together. It wasn't that she doubted their love for her, but rather that she always came back anyway.

Just because she came back... didn't mean Liara and Caius did not wish to see her come to as little pain as possible.

Liara nodded. "Good," she said. "It is... important that you do."

With the hopes Yeul might one day understand it.

Perhaps that would happen, if she ever felt like it was a prudent thing for her to learn. The jury was still out on that.

"I will think about it," she said, and reached for Liara's hand. See? She was there.

Liara smiled, and gave Yeul's hand a little squeeze.

"But for the moment," she said, "Let us enjoy our graduation."
