Art of BS, Thursday 4th Period

"Hey," Kathy said, waving from the front of the room as everyone walked in. "So, professor Lyman couldn't be here today and asked if I could run class. I know that normally that means a movie day, but other than finding a Youtube clip of every time the Mister BSes his way out of a problem, I couldn't think of a good movie to show. Sorry about that. Umm, instead, we're going to look forward to college--which might not be on the docket for everyone, but neither is doing a press conference."

She started handing out lists of class titles on it. "Today, your job is to take one of the weirder and more esoteric classes that Fandom has offered in the past, like 'Annoy Your Teachers' or 'Don't Be Evil' or 'Prophecy' and try to convince a college acceptance board that the class offered a valuable learning experience. Feel free to make up whatever you want about the class, but it has to be something that would fit in with the class title as given. If you're not speaking, you're a member of the board and have no idea that powers, time travel, and multidimensions exist. Feel free to ask questions or challenge assertions or whatever. Okay? Does anyone have any questions before we, uhh, get started?"

She was planning her strategy to convince Josh that this class should totally count as her final. What could he possibly give her that was bigger than BSing an entire class?

First off, "Sex and Candy" was clearly a class about the culture of addiction in America beyond the chemical addictions of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Gambling addiction was also covered, providing the students with the tools to identify addictive behaviors early in order to help prevent them in themselves and their friends. Totally worthwhile in every way.

And all these classes with the exclamation points and the phrase "and Glitter" at the end? Sociology courses with a gender studies slant.

"Over all, the school has a real focus not just on academics, but on self-discovery, social skills, and leadership, perfectly suited for success at the collegiate level," Raven finished. "The creative names were just to draw the students in."

Travis was a little (or a lot) preoccupied during class. Couldn't help it. He had something on his mind. A lot of somethings.

"Guide to carrots seems to be a...class about proper eating," he said, shrugging. "Make sure you're healthy before going to college."

After class, Kathy caught up to Travis. "Hey!" she said brightly, giving him a grin. "We still on for the arcade today?"

"Huh?" Travis asked, blinking a few times before he remembered. "Oh. Oh! Yeah, sure. Yeah, that'd be good."

He'd work around getting what was requested. "Sorry, lost track of my days there."

"You okay?" Kathy asked, smile fading to something a little more concerned. "You seemed a little, umm, off? In class today."

He would definitely get to those later.
