How to Develop a Personal Style [Tuesday]

Today, students were instructed to meet in the Danger Shop, where they'd find that Irene had programmed a beautiful, sunny, relaxing beach -- complete with cabanas.

(There had been a moment where she had nearly programmed beds into the cabanas, but Irene wasn't quite that poor an example.)

"I apologize for my absence last week," she greeted them, waving. Despite the theme of today's lesson, Irene had wisely opted to cover up more than she might have -- it didn't seem an apt time to go parading about in a swimsuit in front of her students, somehow. (They'd get enough of that on spring break, next week, anyway -- and hopefully this...whatever it was that was in the air would have dissipated by then.) "And I apologize even more, because this week we're covering swim and vacation wear, in light of the trip. I could postpone it, but wouldn't that be silly?"

It would be at least as silly as trying on swimwear during an island-wide hormone surge, sure.

"In any case, each of the cabanas is outfitted with all sorts of swimsuits and coverups, for both sexes -- as well as shoes and accessories. Go wild, try things on -- that's why they have curtains, by the way -- and then feel free to come out and...sun yourselves for the rest of the hour. Play in the ocean. If you feel the need to leave and dispense of any excess energy, please do feel free -- you won't be penalized."

If any of their teachers were going to understand, after all....

It's all Danger Shop clothes, so you can't take 'em with you, but Irene did lovingly program in some crazy shit for those of you who wear crazy shit. Mod away!

This was Ezra's favorite class, because this was basically Ezra's favorite week on the island so far. And that was not sarcasm. He'd already gone shirtless yesterday just to attract attention. A class where he could parade around in even less?

Yes, he was hoping he wouldn't be leaving class alone.

He went for a nice pair of blue Hugo Boss swim trunks, then went to wade through the water a bit.

"Shirtless again?" Mianko laughed as she happily splashed her way into the water. "I'm starting to think it's your natural state."

Ezra smirked at her. "You have no idea." That was joking, but also had a sliver of truth to everyone who'd ever seen him shift between forms. "It's how I'm most comfortable."

"As a lover of short skirts and shorter-shorts, I can't judge," Minako admitted cheerfully. "I can't wait until we're on spring break, or summer's finally here. I spend days just laying out on the beach."

"I get bored like that." He was fine with laying around, but beaches were just not his thing. "Unless there's pretty people. I need to be more... active. But the tiny clothes are good."

Active and oh wow there went her brain and Minako gave herself a little mental shake.

"Around here? There's always pretty people at the beach once it warms up," she pointed out, trying to keep her brain from going to places they shouldn't go in class. "But I kinda know what you mean. I'm a volleyball player, so, like, I need to be moving around if I'm not napping in the sunshine."

"You play volleyball?" Did that have uniforms –– sorry, his mind went off track really easily at the best of times. "That's definitely active. Maybe not my kind, but in the same ballpark."

Ronan found a expensive pair of basic black trunks. They'd work for the time being. Then, he stripped off his shirt and waded into the water to try and cool down a bit.

The tattoo that covered his entire back disappeared under the waves and he swam underwater for a few moments before coming back up and taking a breath.

Normally, Kathy would gravitate towards suits like this, colorful or one-pieces that covered up the important bits and were closer to the functional end of the spectrum, rather than the sexy. Or even skip out on the suit all together, in favor for a sunning outfit like this. Sorry, Irene.

But this week was most assuredly not normal, and so rather than her usual style, Kathy found herself trying on very different kinds of suits. Two-pieces, mostly, still bright colors, but all solids, no crazy patterns. She felt a lot like she had at the dance--older, more mature and sophisticated.

It wasn't until she had her phone out to snap a few selfies and send them to a couple of cute guys with a invitation to go 'shopping for break,' that she realized that maaaaybe she wasn't thinking with her brain. She tossed her phone back in her purse, flung a knitted cover-up and stalked outside. She was going to sun herself like a lizard and pretend that she didn't exist below the collarbone, dammit.

Minako had grabbed a few retro (http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/139/d/f/colored__minako_aino___sailor_venus_by_setsunakute_ii-d65ryw0.png) options (http://media.animegalleries.net/albums/media/18/sm_venus018.jpg?=123), but so far her favorite was a bikini (http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/sailormoon/images/e/ed/All10SenshiSwimsuits_Artbook_3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130830202251) and added a pair of matching sunglasses.

Ladies and gentlemen, she had a winner! Minako pirouetted happily on the sand, enjoying her look, before tying up her hair to go for a swim before tanning.

Alana's bikini was decidedly on the smaller end of the spectrum, and the fact it was close to flesh-colored didn't make it any more modest.

Her body was awesome, and just now she had a hard time thinking of reasons not to show it off.

Anna was absolutely not going to wear a -- oh! Oh, this swimsuit was simply the most adorable thing ever (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/twopiece-swimwear/vacation-daisies-swimsuit-top). She tried it on and posed in the mirror, and was both enchanted and horrified.

If Elsa knew she was thinking of going out on a beach mostly naked, Elsa would kill her.

And so she frantically searched through the cover-up options until she found one that actually reached past her knees, in a pretty green color (http://www.swimoutlet.com/p/oneill-womens-rylie-dress-8115624/?color=19386). Bits of her swimsuit were peeking out, but this was absolutely the best she could do, okay, Elsa-in-her-brain? She had tried.

And then Anna went out onto the beach and ... and gaped. There was so much skin. She should absolutely not be looking at skin. She was trying desperately not to. But there was so much of it, and she was failing miserably, and okay, Elsa-in-her-brain, maybe she wasn't trying all that hard? But did you see how pretty everyone was!??

Maybe the water would calm her down. But that might mean taking the dress off. Dilemma. For now, she was going to sit here, sun herself, and stare. A lot.
