Introduction to Anthropology, 5th Period
"Today, we're going to be moving away from all the theories and start talking about the archaeology of different places," Daniel said, smiling. "Starting with my own personal favorite, Egypt."
"We're going to start off by talking about the geography.
The ancient Egyptians thought of Egypt as being divided into two types of land, the 'black land' and the 'red land'.
The 'black land' was the fertile land on the banks of the Nile. The ancient Egyptians used this land for growing their crops. This was the only land in ancient Egypt that could be farmed because a layer of rich, black silt was deposited there every year after the Nile flooded.
The 'red land' was the barren desert that protected Egypt on two sides. These deserts separated ancient Egypt from neighbouring countries and invading armies. They also provided the ancient Egyptians with a source for precious metals and semi-precious stones.
The Ancient Greek used to call Eygpt "The Gift of the Nile"
What do you think about a civilization in the Nile Valley?"

Re: After class
Daniel looked down at his desk in despair for a moment, before raising his hands and shrugging it off. He looked back at Janet, and smiled warmly at her. "Hey, there."
Re: After class
She glared at her hands and tried shaking the pen and piece of paper off it again. No luck.
"I haven't eaten yet today either because I think the food would stick to my hands too."
Re: Sign in (02/28)
After Janet figured out who was making everything stick to her hands and made them suffer.
Re: After class
He vaguely remembered there being a mention of "girl-on-girl" action on the radio last night from Tactics of War, but decided that he better not ask. Even though the making up of that particular confrontation had been well worth it.
Daniel just stared at her hands. "Have you been touching things that you shouldn't have?" he asked. Wow. For once he got to ask that question.
Re: Sign in (02/28)
He would also be hoping that it took a long time to figure out who made her hands sticky.
Re: After class
"Daniel!" Janet glared at him next. "I'm hungry! I was taking notes in ACJ and arguing with Marty this morning and then I tried to put my pen down and couldn't. No alien artifacts were involved."
Re: After class
He looked contrite. "Okay, then. Um, I don't have anything to eat here, so it's going to be cafeteria or your room. Or my place, if you think you can last that long."

Re: After class
"Did I touch anything I wasn't supposed to," said Janet. "What do I look like, an accident-prone archaeologist? Your place would be bad, as I have a seventh period. And the cafeteria is bad in general. It's going to have to be my room." She looked down at her backpack and then hopefully at Daniel. "I've had to carry that thing in the most awkward positions all day so it doesn't stick to my hands. Could you?"
Re: After class
"Sure," he replied, picking up her bag and easily slinging it over his shoulder. He eyed up his own briefcase, but decided to leave it for now.
Daniel opened the door. "After you."
Re: After class
"Thank you," said Janet.
OOC: Given that it's, like, 10 CST, can we just handwave the 'feeding Janet lunch' part?
Re: After class
[[ooc: Yes, because it's also like 11 EST! *g*]]
