Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

There were chairs and tables set up all across the lawn; some were by the bonfire, for the people who wanted to be warm and central to everything else at the picnic, and some were set farther away from the action, for the people who wanted more peace and quiet.

There was no escaping the glitter though. Sorry, but not really.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Well, it's not really a concern. More like an easy way to start a conversation," Johnny said. "I mean, most people don't wear armor around here. You stand out. Not in a bad way, I promise."

"Most people here do not find themselves in combat often," Cassandra said. She was unsure what to make of this one. "Though this was not a conscious choice. I did not intend to be here."

"You'd be surprised how wrong you are about the combat. It's just not an armor kind of time for most people," Johnny said. "But that said, how'd you end up here? Did it involve a portal of some kind?"

Cassandra sat up. "Do you know something? How do these portals function?"

"Not as much as you'd like. Most of the ones I've seen are really advanced technology made by crazy smart people," Johnny said. "But between the armor and you not meaning to be here, I'm going to guess it's some kind of weird magic thing. That sound about right?"
