BWI Portalocity Lounge | Saturday Morning

One of the very few perks of having a meteorologist for a mother was that Amy could almost always avoid weather-related flight delays by relying on her mom for information. That was usually very convenient, but today it meant that due to anticipated late morning storms in northern Texas, Amy had been forced to fly in at ass o'clock in the morning so that she wouldn't run the risk of missing the bus to school. So it looked like she was the first person to reach the Fandom High banner in the airport lounge, and while Amy had always had hopes of one day winning a race, this wasn't quite what she had had in mind.

Armed with an overstuffed duffel bag and her favorite pair of sweatpants (they were decorated with little cartoon strips of bacon!), Amy stifled a heavy yawn and parked herself in a distant corner of the lounge where she could wait for more people to show up.

//If one more of them pulls a weapon on me or looks as though they're about to, they're riding on the roof,// Jono groused after he had dealt with a few of the new kids. //My count is one sword and what was almost certainly a gun, and I'm just thankful at this point that it's not my job to get them to check those into the weapons locker. Security can have fun with that.//

Even if a sword or a gun probably couldn't kill him. It still wasn't his idea of a good time.

"Yeah, I heard princess sword-up-her-butt there, towards the end. She starts giving you shite again, point her at me and say I'm the mage." John, that smile isn't nice. "I'll deal with the attitude."

//... I'd pay money to see that,// Jono decided. //Not that I didn't have it handled. I give the students we get plenty of credit, but she doesn't have half a bloody clue what she's getting herself into, and threatening me with a sword is a move that sits somewhere on the stupid scale right near the end that Darwin appreciates most.//

He shrugged.

//Won't do to have her doing that to her classmates, though. I know of at least two students who use magic in their day-to-day.//

Constantine just shrugged. "She does it in the library, she ends up in my office. She does it anywhere else, she ends up in Zoe's office. If she's smart, she'll do it in the library, where she only has to deal with me."

John had no illusions - Zoe was way scarier than him.

Zoe was way scarier than most people. Jono could appreciate that.

//Hopefully she'll learn that lesson early on. If I have to peel her off of any of my Powers and Identity students, I'm going to melt that bloody sword down and use it to make a doorstop.//

He'd do it, too.

"Fuck, weld her in that armor for a few hours. Maybe she'll learn some manners about the time she needs to take a piss." John, maybe you aren't the best one to talk about manners? Just a thought.

//If it gets so bad that I have to weld her into it, I sure as hell won't be the one letting her out again,// Jono replied, shaking his head. //But she seems to have declared a truce, whatever that means. And I've let her know in no uncertain terms that I'm not going to be pleased with her if she harms a hair on the head of any of the students on the island. Hopefully that'll serve, at least for now.//
