Fight Club [Gym, Monday Night]

Shortly after Tactics of War, Bridge goes to the gym and starts setting up for Fight Club. Once everyone's arrived, he starts talking.

"Okay, so apparently there was a... thing..." he waves a hand vaguely, "in the Shop classroom today. Um- so why don't those of you who were there share what happened? Looking back, is there any way you would have done things differently? How did different people's strengths- or weaknesses- play into things?"

"Actually, you know, there's an idea. What do you guys think of moving meetings to the Danger Shop? I mean, obviously we wouldn't let things get as out-of-control as they did today, but it'd be a good way of getting in some practice with different scenarios."

"After we talk for a bit, there's sparring, of course. Maybe try mixing things up and going two on one?" Bridge suggests. "Because in a real life situation, being outnumbered is entirely possible."

He recoiled his hand quickly, biting at his lip gultily. "Ack, sorry. Didn't know it was that bad." Alphonse shoved his hands in his pockets, taking a look around the gym. "Huh, Ed's not here tonight. I was actually hoping I'd be able to pound on him again." He made a smug grin at Pippi, hoping for the sake of her to stray away from the previous topic.

Pippi's face flushes and she becomes more cheerful and animated.

"Oh yes, I was hoping we could have some kind of exercise today, but I think maybe that's not wise after today. But I can tell you that I did learn it is never a good idea to use your shoes as projectiles if your feet are susceptible to injury... John rather learned that the hard way."

"I don't think you'd want to take off your shoes if you're in the middle of fighting off a hoarde of robots. Especially since they probably wouldn't cause too much damage, either." Alphonse shook his head and slipped a slight snicker. "I probably should exercise more than I have; at this rate I'm gonna get really rusty, and then Ed will be able to beat me for sure." Yes, he was proud of himself for standing undefeated against his brother.

Pippi nodded.

"Yes, shoes are not good weapons and should stay on one's feet unless one is reasonably sure their feet are not vulnerable. Which is why I gave John mine... If you want to spar... I think that John..." she said, pointing to John Connor, "Will want to spar."

"Crichton?" Callisto cocked her head to the side. "What happened to him?"

"I had to loan him my shoes... He threw his at the robots... Which suck... The robots that is, not John's shoes... They're great shoes... Though they are lousy weapons..."

There's a pause.

"He's okay though. A little banged up, but not so bad."

"Our main tactic was to clear a path with the guns," Pip said. "Most people went for the hand guns. Kalwalsky and I grabbed M-16s. Pippi went for a shotgun, as did I when I ran out of ammo in my M-16."

He winced as he tried to sit down. "I think someone had an explosive. There might have been knives thrown. I'm not sure."

"Before we were able to get the guns, I had to carry Mac because he broke his leg. So I had my hands full. But I was able to use a new... Ability I seem to have developed, to throw projectiles without my hands."

"At least your ability was useful," Walter said, and then showed off his new mastery of slang. "Spaghetti? Sucks."

"But not as much as robots."

"Robots suck," Walter agreed and didn't hiss when he nodded his head because sometimes drugs are good.

"Don't you think the heads of this school should be a little concerned about something like that happening?"

"Yes," Pip said. "Yes they should. Because that was seriously messed up."

"So..." Alphonse took a look at everyone. "I'm going to safely assume no one is really up do doing much of anything right now, huh?"

"I'm actually feeling pretty good now..." said Pippi enthusiastically. "But I think maybe I shouldn't anyway..." she added with a pout.

"No, you shouldn't," Pip said. "And if you try I'll glitter your entire room. So don't."

"I'm a girl!" she pronounced. "I kinda want you to glitter my room min älska."

Pip sighed. "Alright, I'll think of something else mean to do to you. Point is, no matter how good you're feeling right now, you shouldn't do anything like that. Those are your endorphins talking. Trust me on this."

"My what?"

"Probably. It's not a good idea to push yourself when you just got injured."

Pippi is quite dissapointed.

"Yeah."

"Well, I'm definitely not," Pip replied. "I mean, sure, any other time. But right now my number one plan tonight involves a mess of painkillers and my bed."

"If you guys are feeling that under the weather, maybe you should get to bed instead of hanging around here for too long."

"I am told it is bad to sleep when heads have been banged."

"I thought that was only in the case of a concussion?"
