Yeah, I brought along a few of the plants I heard you guys talkin' about, and some beans, because fuck it, beans are easy to grow, and, throwin' caution into the wind here, a few saplings. They're all Earth species that are pretty hardy - remember, they're gonna be growin' in a desert with dirt that's been functionally dead for decades now, yo. We're gonna find somewhere to plant 'em on the outskirts of town, somewhere that doesn't have a hell of a lot of foot traffic, and if they grow, they grow. Hell yeah."

"And if gardening ain't your thing, there's still work to be done on the water filter systems. You know what you're doin' there, yo. I'll escort anyone who would rather be going that way instead of diggin' in the dirt, and then come and gather you all up for our portal at the end of class, yo."

He's got a box of seeds and saplings and little starter plants. Because why NOT give planting things somewhere a try? The worst that'll happen is that they wither and die, after all.

There are various kinds of small saplings, some beans, a few herbs, some aloes and other succulents… Mod your plants and get to work!

There was something profoundly comforting about gardening, so Anders went at it. He took a hoe and started raking a furrow to plant the beans in, grateful this at least was the same in any world.

Oh yeah, this is where Minako was, finding the best spots to place the aloes and getting them worked into the ground.

Cosette's father had been a gardener at the Petit-Picpus convent while she was going to school there, and she had spent every spare hour she was allowed with him. It was hard not to pick up at least a little bit of horticultural know-how from a man who could, off the top of his head, reel off a list of uses for nettles or which flowers had the right kind of scent to drive off various pests.

Besides, she was rarely as happy as when she was surrounded by living things, and busied herself arranging some of the herbs and succulents into a fancy little plot.

Every now and then she would pat the soil into place around the roots of one of the plants with her trowel and murmur something along the lines of "Now, you take root and flourish, and make this place a little bit more beautiful, do you understand?"

Kathy actually didn't know much about gardening. It wasn't something that came up much in LA. But it looked like a lot of the others did, so she was just going to follow their examples and hope for the best.

And probably stick to hoeing, just in case.

Or you can go and do the usual work, off in the square or by the ruins. Work has been progressing quickly since the locals got involved too, and we're very nearly done. Just a few weeks to go!

Four was definitely not Amity material, but fixing the filtration system was right up his alley. He was back over at the filtration system, handing chocolates to the kids who were watching when he didn't think any of the adults were watching.

Four was a secret soft touch, at least for kids with nothing.

Andros was definitely always going to pick working with machines over plants. He understood machines. Plants...not so much.

Kathy was taking notes in her notebook about each species of plant Reno had brought. She was going to look them all up over the next week and find out everything she could about their care.

He's bopping around the three worksites, as per usual, and he'll stick around the Causeway for a bit after class if anybody needs him.

I'm covered in kitties, halp.

Why would you need help for that??? That's a great situation!

I guess it's not much of a problem.

Except for how doooooooomed I am.
