Technology and You- Monday- 1st period

The class was back in the classroom today, and Kitty was sitting cross-legged on top of her desk with a cup of coffee in her hand, and some pastries from JGOB for the class because Mondays were hard, okay.

"Hey, guys. Take some muffins or whatever, there's plenty for everyone," she said. "Today I kind of want to get an idea of where you guys are. I have no idea how this happened, but we only have a few more weeks left of class, not counting the final, and I want to make sure I get to everything that you guys think you might want to know. I've dealt with people who are time displaced or from alternate realities or worlds, but as I'm not one of them I'm sure it's easy to miss some stuff. Is there anything that you still want to learn about? Are there any questions you have? Or, if you just want to WTF about any of the weird stuff you've had to deal with being here, go for it. This is your platform today, guys."

Nathan thought about staying quiet but he figured if he knew about this stuff, maybe he'd have a leg up on some people when he went back home.

"What are..." He paused, chewing his lip. "On the television, I've seen commercials for things that tell you where you're going? Like directions?"

"GPS?" Kitty said. "Where there's a voice or map giving you directions while you're driving?"

"Yes, that," Nathan said, nodding. "And they talk it to you so you don't even have to worry about reading."

"I'm actually really glad you brought that up," Kitty said, making a note to show them how to use it before the final. "GPS, or Global Positioning System, tracks where you are by satellite and gives you the best way to get somewhere as you go. There are apps for your phone, or you can get a GPS device for your car. Some, like Google Maps, will even give you walking directions, or for public transit."

"That sounds really helpful especially if there's walking directions," Nathan said, eyes widening. "I do a lot of that."
