Library, Thursday (11/13)

Johnny's warnings from last night notwithstanding, Cosette came into the library this morning with plans of finding and reading the book that was the basis for the movie that had been on in the common room.

It was funny how, every time she had a spare moment and planned to head into the fiction section to find it, there would be a disturbance somewhere else in the stacks and she'd have to go reshelve books or mediate some petty but contentious standoff between genres.

Not that she was aware of it, but the library was looking out for her. Aw.

Scott had been thinking for a while now that if he really was serious about getting in to vet school after graduation that he needed to start paying more attention to the whole school thing. And, like, expanding his horizons and learning stuff on his own. Hence the library visit. That it was the day of the week that Cosette's shift fell on was of course completely coincidental.

"Hey," he greeted her. "How's librarying?" Scott, that wasn't even a word.

"Oh, I'm good!" Scott chirped. "And it's good that the books are keeping you occupied. That's kind of why I'm here actually. Not to occupy you, specifically," that was totally a lie, he was absolutely here because it meant he could talk to Cosette, "except I guess sort of, since I'm gonna ask for your help, but I need books?" That was generally why people came to libraries, Scott.

"I don't know," Scott admitted. "I'm thinking about going to veterinary school, after I graduate," he admitted. You know, assuming he lived that long given the whole werewolf- thing. "I know a lot about helping animals already- I worked part time at a clinic back home, and for the shelter here for a while. But I want to... expand my horizons, I guess? Make myself look all well rounded and stuff."

Well, to be entirely honest, Scott wanted to take care of everyone, human, animal, or supernatural creature (so long as said supernatural creature wasn't making the conscious choice to hurt anyone he cared about, which, as already mentioned, was everyone.) But people medical school was far too expensive and besides, there were lots of people who wanted to be doctors already. "Yeah, I've dealt with lots of animals that were just abandoned because their owners couldn't figure out what was wrong and they didn't want to deal with it and it just sucks, you know? Because it's not that hard to pay attention, honestly."
