Technology and You- Monday- 1st period

The students were directed back to the classroom instead of the Danger Shop today, because ugh, basically.

"I'm so sorry, and I'd be giving you a normal class but apparently the island decided to make us all crazy people and so you're getting a movie day," Kitty said. "We're going to watch Illinois Smith which has nothing to do with the subject of technology but I had it on hand and at least some of you probably haven't seen it. Next week won't suck, I promise."

And in went the movie.

Nathan figured things could have been worse for him but still... He never really liked being someone else so he was just going to put his head down and try and forget about it.

Well, Cosette was watching the movie, but also wondering what she'd missed this time because whoops, and, related to that, wondering whether it was a good thing or not that she kept missing out on these things by spending so many weekends at her father's.

Celia would just be over here trying to blend in with her desk. She wasn't -- that would require a bit more magical energy than she felt like exerting just now, but she did have her head down on her desk. If nothing else, she knew perfectly well who her brother-of-the-weekend was to her teacher, and that was enough to keep her hiding for the whole period.

Ichabod glanced at Celia. The events of the weekend had been confusing. He had been someone else, but with the same name, and he had been looking for a murderer and found the love of a princess. That last part was embarrassing, to say the least. He was also a little uncomfortable remembering that he had met someone who looked just like Celia, but who had worn quite noticeable clothing.

Celia, who was doing her very best to pretend she had never even entertained the idea of such noticeable clothing, lifted her head when she caught his eye, and a moment later flicked over a note.

Interesting weekend?

She hadn't run into Ichabod, that she knew of, (thank heaven for small favors), but who knew what sorts of things he'd gotten up to?

More interesting than I would have wished. And you?

Ichabod tossed the note back.

Same. I thought Miss Pryde's boyfriend was my brother, so there's that.

Never going to mention those leather pants, no. It was bad enough she'd worn jeans in public, a few times.

Ichabod wasn't going to mention the leather pants either.

I tried to solve murders and saved a princess. I was also quite a coward as well as judgmental.

You were busier than I was. I just thought I was hunting witches.

The irony had not escaped her, even if she didn't like applying the W-word to herself.

Do you know who your princess was? Because by the sounds of it, they surely knew her -- though hopefully not the murders.

Hunting witches? So she might have looked like herself, Ichabod guessed.

I believe I might have met you. The princess said her name was Aurora but I didn't recognize her.

Forgive the utter panic that flitted across Celia's face at that first comment. She could leave Princess Aurora alone for the moment, instead frantically scrawling a reply, and sending the note zipping back over to him with a burst of magic.

THAT WAS YOU??

Unless there was some other murder-solver she wasn't remembering. Oh, god, what a weekend.

I apologize for my behaviour. I wasn't myself.

He was truly glad he hadn't said something worse. Should he try to find out who princess Aurora had been, or just try to forget?

Considering I was carrying around a crossbow and wore those pants, I don't think it was much of a day to behave as ourselves. Nothing to apologize for.

Mentioning the pants seemed appropriate, here.

Jalian...could not remember this weekend. Which was a little disturbing. She had a vague impression of a lot of space, but also of a lot of people around?

She spent a lot of time sort of trying to track that down in her own mind, rather than watching the film. She didn't much see the point of rapidly shown images of some male stealing things.
