Meditation and the Art of Kicking Ass [Thursday, September 18, 2014, 2nd period]

"Well, since we had a relatively uneventful week and nothing seems to be pouring from the ceiling or screwing with our brains, today we're going to combine concentration and inner focus with a target. You'll have three options, depending on your level of comfort with weapons: cornhole, which is basically bean bag tossing; darts with a target several meters away; and knife or vibroblade throwing."

Anakin was only going to judge you a little if you went with cornhole. Or snickered too loudly at the name, Johnny.

"We'll start with breathing exercises to get into the correct mind space, and then you may choose your exercise," Anakin concluded.

Focused.

Pick up some beanbags, pick a partner to play against and aim for the hole. Not dirty. Bags in the hole (not dirty) count for five points, bags on the wood (not dirty) count for one point. First person to 21 wins.

Since the point of today was concentration and aiming, in darts you had to get a dart into each segment once, and two bulls-eyes.

The Danger Shot will not be providing tequila shots as you play, sorry.

Whichever you're more comfortable with. Five shots center mass and one head shot as quickly and accurately as you can.

Now I want to play cornhole.

Daphne Blake

Daphne decided that she was going to start off working with the darts.

Johnny Storm ~~who was already snickering at a respectable volume~~

Cornholing seemed like a trap. JUST CALL IT BAGS FOR NOW! Wait, that still wasn't that great. But still, it was less, you know, cornhole-based.

Anyway, Johnny passed it up to throw darts, which was a game he was pretty good at anyway.

You know, as filthy as cornhole sounds when you consider that it's a game played with wood and bags where you try really hard to get in the hole while three people watch and wait for their turn, it's still 1/100th as filthy-sounding as anything that happens in golf.

This is very, very true.

Barry Ween

After throwing a few regular knives at the target, Barry picked up the vibroblade.... And started the process of figuring out how it worked. He might even be trying to take it apart.

SCIENCE!

"Nice form," Johnny said, even though he had no idea what kind of form was good with darts.

Yes, he was flirting with darts instead of cornholing. Admit it, you're all surprised.

Daphne smiled at him. "Thanks. "I'm pretty good at throwing things."

"So if I gave you a piece of paper to write your number on, could you throw it my way?" Johnny asked with a slight chuckle halfway through. "I'm sorry, that was a terrible line. I'm realizing that I don't have much material when it comes to throwing."

Daphne laughed. "I have to say, that is one of the ways to get my phone number that I've never heard before."

"Good. It's one of my goals to offer girls something they haven't experienced before," Johnny said. "Even if that thing is low quality flirting. But I promise to step my game up now."

Daphne turned toward him so she could see him a little better as she talked. "Then I can't wait to see what else you have to offer."

"A good number of them probably aren't appropriate for discussion in class, to be honest," Johnny said casually as he took a turn throwing a dart. Was he showing off his arms? Yes, of course he was. "But if you're really curious, maybe we could get together after class."

Whether he meant "get together" or "get together" was something he'd leave to Daphne to decide. He was good with either. He enjoyed both talking and metaphors.

[And now work-based SP! I'll ping when I can!]

"And I don't want to upset or disrespect Mr. Skywalker in his class," Daphne said as she turned back to throw her next dart. "You have nice arms," she commented after she let her dart fly.

[[OOC: Yep, I am doing the SP while at work dance, too. :)]]

"You think they're nice, you should see my abs. Play your cards right and you can," Johnny bragged. And let's be honest, the cards to get Johnny to show off his abs involved waiting a short time. "Out of curiosity, are you here for the meditation or the kicking ass? I could see you going either way. You look like you could be tough to go along with your good looks."

"So what are we doing after classes are out, then? I should warn you that I have been known to be really good at cards." Daphne was a big proponent of saying what she was thinking -- if it wasn't in the middle of being chased or kidnapped. "I'm here for both. I take martial arts training back home and meditating has helped me through some rough times." She grinned. "Besides, I'd heard about how good of a teacher Professor Skywalker was and wanted to take one of his classes to see for myself."

Emma Swan

Well, it seemed the dart board was safe from Emma today. The wall holding it up, not so much.

Alana

"Well, most of that sounds pretty hot, so I kind of want to jump straight to seeing how good you are at cards," Johnny said. And by 'cards' he meant 'make outs where at least he was shirtless.' And by 'kind of' he meant 'really.' "But we could get some lunch, too, if you're feeling hungry after killing the dartboard like you have been." He had been paying very little attention to Daphne's dartboard. Should could have missed every single throw for all he'd noticed.

Alana wasn't particularly successful with the knife-throwing, but practice made perfect. This was a fantastic way to release stress.

Kathy Li

Daphne couldn't help but grin. She liked that he was being completely upfront about what he was thinking -- as far as she could tell. She was enjoying herself around him. "Food is always good in case we later get into a really intense game of cards."

She would very much like to see him shirtless.

Kira Yukimura

After sparring with Derek, Kira was feeling brave, so she went for the knives. Six throws later, there was a nice cluster of chest wounds and one right in the poor target's forehead.

This class was awesome.

Seriously, Johnny was kind of mad that it took him this long to find a regular school suited to him, filled with hot girls who liked making out like all the time. Living the dream.

"Sounds like fun," Johnny said. "I'll catch you right after class, we can stop off in town first, and then... I'm out of card metaphors, to be honest. I had, like one. But we'll have a good time."

Daphne laughed. "That's okay, I would have run out of them soon, too. But yes, we'll get together after class."
