How to be a Hired Gun, Monday - Period Three

Today Jayne had sent a wave to have all the students meet out in front of MHA and to dress for hard labor. Clearly Jayne did not care if you were traumatized by having no memory this weekend.

When the students arrived they would find Jayne standing in front of the apartment complex with a bunch of his belongings sitting out front.

"Part of being a mercenary is that you have cargo that has to be transported," Jayne explained as he lit up a cigar. "So today we are going to transport stuff."

He waved at his possessions. "So get transporting this stuff up to apartment #4"

Jayne was so getting another note from the school office.

"You know, pirates are known for stealing cargo while it's being transported," Face said, while glaring at Jayne. "It's why they're pirates instead of extremely ill-mannered pilots."

Really? Jayne would have no idea how that works.

He had not taken into account his students would do that to him. Jayne thought his simple authority would make them fall in line.

Oh, Jayne.

"Which is why I've taken careful record of what you guǐ tóu hé yōulíng de dànǎo² are carrying up to my apartment," Jayne lied. "So don't try anything. Dong mah?

"I'm sure you won't even notice a single thing gone," Face said, completely innocently and not at all like he happened to come from a people who were really good at picking up on lies. "It'll be like you hired a bunch of Jawas to move your stuff."

Jayne had no idea what a jawa was. Unfortunately for Face he took it as an insult.

"And if I do notice something gone, I know just who I need to blame now don't I?" Jayne snarled menacingly. "I don't think you want to have detention with me now do you?"

Face suspected he didn't, but he also suspected putting in a report that said 'stole my stuff while using him as unpaid labour' would lead to more trouble on Jayne's part than his.

He frowned as he looked at a spot past Jayne, his expression a perfect mix of surprise and concern. "Probably that guy there," he said, pointing. "Since he's the one putting something in his jacket."

He was also the one who didn't actually exist.

Mara sniggered as she dragged (hopefully nothing fragile in here, Jayne! Damn you, lack of upper body strength!) Jayne's duffel past Face.

"Utinni," Face mouthed at Mara, before schooling his features back to total innocence.

Mara made a noise dangerously close to a giggle. If she discovered anything close to a bathrobe in this stuff, Face was going to end up with it.

You know, for authenticity in his Jawa impression.
