How to be a Hired Gun - Monday Period Three

Somebody at the school office had thoughtfully provided Jayne with a list of activities that he should never do with students. They had also used small words so he could easily understand them. He decided that he was going to break at least one of those rules so today he chose to smoke a cigar

Consider yourself lucky kids.

When the students entered the danger shop, they'd no doubt notice that there were multiple people on horses wearing some odd cowboy costumes in a prairie type setting.

"Right. I'm Jayne. This class is how to be a hired gun slash mercenary," Jayne announced as he took a puff from his cigar. "And the most important thing about being a hired gun is to not get shot. So. These guys are going to shoot at you and I'm going to see how fast you can run and hide."

Jayne wasn't much for complicated lectures. Or activities.

"I do not think pumpkins capable of such an action," Loki replied thoughtfully. Because there was that Allspeak thing to translate what was in Jayne's greedy little heart.

"Well ain't you a smarty-pants?" Jayne growled. "But that doesn't answer my gorram question."

Well, Jayne's heart was pretty greedy. About as greedy as they come.

"Ah, taking a selfie," Loki replied brightly. He held up the phone to show his active twitter feed.

Jayne boggled at the phone for a few seconds before glaring at Loki.

"Gǒu niáng yǎng de qīngwā tiào de érzi!4 You're taking pictures of yourself? Are you daft? You're getting shot at!"

Well, he was also the type to take pictures of a rampaging Surtur while fleeing for his life, so...

Well if that's what he does with a Surtur then that makes it okay!

Well accept for Jayne. He doesn't read narrative.

"Qīng qīng níng wǒ yòng tài sè5," he groaned. "Fine. Whatever. Be an idiot. UNPAUSE!"

And the bullets were flying again as Jayne stomped away.
