Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Were you a veteran Fandom resident? Did you finish getting your brain broken by your sibling and/or buddy? Did you just want to sit down to recover from the shuttle ride? If so, then there were plenty of tables and chairs set up across the lawn just waiting to be filled!

[This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"So, the United States is about three thousand miles across. We have machines to fly us around so that we can get from one point to another in just a matter of hours. But fly-over country is that part of the country that is good only to fly over. You don't want to stop and visit. Ride-through might be a similar phrase?"

There didn't seem to be much more to say about that, and Anders didn't try. It was simply a good thing to know.

"Not to totally change the subject, but which classes did you take this time around?"

"Just to totally change the subject," Kathy teased. She wasn't offended, though. And it was nice to tease Anders; nice to have a cute boy she felt comfortable enough being around to tease.

"I'm only taking four classes this semester, because I loaded up on a lot of AP classes with the computer. I'm in Reno's Public Service class, Meditation and the Art of Kicking Ass, Professor Lyman's American History and, uhh..." She turned bright red before mumbling, "Sex and Sexuality."

"You?"

It was nice being teased; Anders went a tiny bit pink and smiled back at Kathy.

"Reno's class as well, Keeping Your Advantage with Professor Atreides, and Creative Writing with Navaan," Anders said, then, mischievously, added, "Sorry, what was that last class you're taking?"

"Oh, it looks like that's the only class we have together," Kathy said, looking disappointed. "I have a feeling we're gonna be run off our legs in Reno's class, so I doubt we'll have much time to catch up."

Drat. He didn't look like he was going to be distracted so easily.

"Umm, what now?"

Kathy. You knew darn well what he said.

"Your last class," Anders repeated. "The one that you mumbled."

He had a good idea what she'd said, but Kathy was fun to tease.

"And we'll have to make time to catch up outside class," he added. "Reno likes to keep us busy."

Kathy was terrible to tease! She got all red and flustered and embarrassed and who wanted to tease someone like that?

"I'm in--" She coughed again. "--the class about, uhh...sex."

Even her ears were red at this point.

"Oh!" Anders said. "That's great. If you need any help studying, you're certainly welcome to consult with me."

He almost sounded as if he meant it innocently.

"Thank, I will--" Kathy said, before realizing what kind of studying that could be expected from a class about exploring one's own sex and sexuality. "You are the woooorst," she groaned, but she was laughing, too. "I'll keep your offer in mind, though. Maybe I'll have to illustrate an STD or something and then you'll be drafted to help me color it."

"That is appropriately disgusting, and I probably deserved it," Anders admitted. "And if you need me to color pus in penance, I will."

"You're on call for all my putrescence-coloring needs," Kathy informed him. "Regardless of the class."

That'd learn him.

"Too bad you're not signed up for that class, though. I think Elsa and Barry and Joker are in it, too."
