Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

Were you a veteran Fandom resident? Did you finish getting your brain broken by your sibling and/or buddy? Did you just want to sit down to recover from the shuttle ride? If so, then there were plenty of tables and chairs set up across the lawn just waiting to be filled!

[This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Just promise me that if you get scared like that again, you'll accept the help that people are offering you," Elsa replied. "I was upset, but it was less about the crazy things you were doing and more because I wanted to do something for you, we all did, and you wouldn't have any of it. You... you weren't the only one left feeling helpless, you know?"

"Yeah. I get that," he said with a nod. "And I got something to help if this type of thing ever happens again.

He reached into his pack and pulled out something that looked like a very thin iPhone.

"The next time I need to get a clue?" He said offering her the phone. "You're the first call on my list."

Elsa accepted the phone, and gave it a curious once-over before glancing back at Barry.

"You're going to have to show me how it works, I'm afraid," she offered. "I've figured out the TV remote control, but modern telephones are still a little confusing."

A little.

"Well the nice part about this phone is that it has voice recognition," Barry explained pointing at the button at the bottom of the phone. "Just hold down the button and wait for it to respond and ask it to do something."

"So... have a conversation with the phone, so that I can have a conversation with you?"

That sounded like an odd series of steps to take to Elsa, when odds were high that Barry could be found easily enough in the warehouse. But it did have its uses, she was sure. Why else would everyone here have a phone?

"Is that right?"

"Something like that," Barry said pulling out his own phone. "I'll demonstrate."

He tapped the button and when the phone let off a ding he said "Call Elsa."

"Calling Elsa," the phone replied.

And soon Elsa's phone was ringing.

"If you slide that button across the bottom of your phone you'll answer my call."

Elsa didn't jump at the phone starting to ring in her hands, whatever gave you that idea? At least she recovered quickly and did as she was told, sliding the button across the bottom and then tentatively putting the phone to her ear, as she'd seen people doing on television all the time.

"Like this?"

She'd be a modern ice queen in no time!

"Just like that," Barry said into the phone. And then hung up. "Now you call me. "

Elsa blinked at the phone as it beeped, and the screen displayed a 'call ended' for a moment before going black again. She eyed it dubiously for a moment, and then followed his example, holding the button down until the phone gave a ding.

"Call Barry?"

And a few seconds later Barry's phone began to play "Baby Got Back."

He gave Elsa a devilish grin as he answered the phone.

"Hello? Is this Elsa?" He asked innocently.

"BARRY."

Okay, she couldn't be angry. She couldn't even pretend to be angry. Not when she was very clearly trying not to crack up, there. Her boyfriend was pretty much the worst.

"How did you know?"

Please. Her boyfriend was awesome.

"I picked out a customized ring tone for whenever you call me," he said grinning like a dork. "I only do that for important people."

"I'm not certain if I ought to be flattered, or if I should throw a cookie at you right now," Elsa laughed, shaking her head. "I knew I should have taken some popcorn while I was still at the table."

"I'd go with feeling fucking flattered," Barry said smiling. "Being covered in food is not a good look for me."

"Oh, I don't know... I think popcorn is a good look for you," Elsa teased. "A few pieces sitting in your hair really brings out your eyes."

"Oh sure, it starts with a few kernels of popcorn. Then it becomes a giant fucking food fight," Barry said trying to sound dramatic. "Then all the papers back home start talking about how the future queen of Arendelle started a food fight and the bad press starts following you everywhere. You don't want that do you?"

"If I get that much bad press over some popcorn, then first I'm going to have to start wondering who from Arendelle followed me here," Elsa pointed out, putting the back of her hand to her forehead in a gesture that was at least halfway as dramatic as Barry's tone. "And whatever will they say about that song?"

"Well if they have any taste they'll love it and make it your fucking national anthem," Barry joked.

"I think your definition of taste and mine are two very different things, Barry," Elsa replied, shaking her head. "The last thing I need is anyone from Arendelle singing that song. Especially thinking it's about me."

"Then clearly your citizens have never seen you shimmy," Barry teased. "But I'll make this promise... If anyone from your country shows up I'll change my ringtone."

Elsa was so going to hold you to that if ever Anna found her way to the island, Barry.

"Good," she decided. "Because they're never going to see me shimmy, either."

Family so doesn't count Elsa. Nuh-uh.

"I'm okay with that," Barry said with an urgent nod. "In fact I think the whole shimmy thing should be limited to a very select group of people. Or person."

Like the guy sitting next to her.

Family counts double!

"Is that person hoarding shimmies?" That... sounded fairly ridiculous, and Elsa couldn't help but smile at the thought. "Dare I ask what he intends to do with them all?"

"Keeping people away from watching my fucking shimmies," Barry said with a solemn nod. "I don't need any competition. That shimmy gets out there then all sorts of princes, jocks and studs will start throwing themselves at you and I can't fucking taser them all."

"Tasering won't be necessary," Elsa replied, leaning sideways just enough to bump her shoulder against Barry's before straightening up again. "I'm not in the market for any princes, jocks, or studs, at present."

She already had a Weenie. That was good enough for her.
