Pinkie was in extra fine form, today, standing amidst what appeared to be giant piles of brightly colored rocks, wearing a chef's hat, a pair of safety goggles, and a set of the rocks on a string around her neck and all four hooves.

"HIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI!" she greeted. Great. Someone had let the pony have caffeine.

Derek was wincing, hands over his ears like that would protect him from high pitched, loud ponies. It did not protect anything. "Inside voice."

"Oops!" said Pinkie, looking abashed. "SORRY." She cleared her throat, covering her mouth with one hoof. "Today we're going to make friendship jewelry. It's one my sister's and my specialties!"

She then proceeded to explain the rock candy around her and how she and her sister Maude started exchanging rock candy jewelry to show their friendship with each other.

"Oh god, there's another of you?" Derek was focused on that. Somehow.

"Uh," Pinkie said. "I have a whole family. Maude's just my favorite." Geez, Derek.

"Oh god."

"Don't worry," Pinkie said brightly. "I'm sure you'll get to meet her at least at the next Parent's Weekend!"

String together rock candy (the secret ingredient is rocks!), or just weave things out of embroidery floss. Either way.

Barry immediately gave up on the rock candy and just went with a friendship bracelet weaving thing.

Not that he had any plans for said friendship bracelet. Really he was just here to watch the pony make Derek's face do the thing it does in every class.

Rapunzel meandered over, weaving her own friendship bracelet as she did so. "Are you making that for your roommate? Because you totally should."

Subtle, Rapunzel.

Barry looked at Rapunzel as if she had lost her mind. "Seriously?" Barry said shaking his head. "The guy's been a total cheese dick since the first day I met him."

Of course Barry had told Ed not to touch any of his stuff. In Barry's usual charming manner. It's a real wonder why both of these guys aren't BFF's.

"You're not exactly easy to get along with, either," Rapunzel pointed out, narrowing her eyes, "so don't you go casting blame around, here. He's my friend! You should be nicer to him and he'll be nicer back!"

That was probably not necessarily true.

"I'm prepared to make a deal."

Barry opened his mouth to protest but was smart enough to keep it shut. He knew he was an asshole to most people so...

"All right," Barry said leaning back in his chair. "What's your deal? And if it involves elaborate costumes, the deals off."

"If you're nice to Edward," Rapunzel said carefully, "like actually are nice and don't just tell me you're gonna be nicer...you can have a strand of my hair. To like, look at under a microscope and do experiments on and stuff."

It was a pretty big deal for her to offer that, and said a lot both about how much she valued people being nice to each other, and how much she trusted Barry.

Barry paused and frowned a little.

"Fuck. All right! Fine!" he exclaimed with a sigh. "I'll be nice. And you don't have to give up your hair to make me be nicer. People shouldn't have to bribe me to be nice."

It just reminded him that he could be a dick and should be acting nicer to everyone anyway.

"No bets on whether this will actually work out but I'll give it an honest shot."

"Really?" Oh, cue Rapunzel actually bouncing up and down in glee, now. "Thank you, Barry! I told him I'd talk to you and I wasn't even sure if it was gonna work!"

She paused, and added, "But you can still look at my hair, if you're ever curious."

Barry couldn't help but smile at Rapunzel's enthusiasm. "I'll admit I'm curious," Barry said with a chuckle. "But... well look, friends who are scientists don't experiment on friends."

Besides the ethics committee probably wouldn't let him anyway.

"Offer stands," Rapunzel decided. "...unless I decide to negotiate for something else!"

Look, she'd never done it before. It turned out she was pretty good at striking deals!

"If you ever need a favor from me you don't need to offer me fucking anything," Barry said shaking his head. "That's not it works. But I appreciate the gesture."

Nathan decided that the rock candy stringing didn't seem too hard. So, he went with that and started on it slowly and carefully.

Joker made himself a rock candy necklace, and started sucking on it while he made a second, smaller one for his pet rock.

...Dude was starting to have a problem.

Andros didn't know if rock candy would keep until Zhane got better, so he decided to do the embroidery floss thing instead (silver and black and red, of course). He made a mental note to get Zhane some rock candy when he woke up, in case it was important somehow.

At least one of whom has a mouthful of rocks.
