Better Living Through Chemistry [Thursday, July 17, 2014]

"Hey," Ben said, looking up from where he was shoving a few thousand ping pong balls into a garbage bag. "Today we're going to have some fun with liquid nitrogen."

If you haven't figured out "and also explosions" was implied yet, you haven't really been paying attention to Ben's teaching style.

He went into a detailed explanation about liquid nitrogen before placing a sealed canister into a garbage can in the center of the room. "Okay, everybody step back," he said, pouring the bag of ping pong balls into the can and then moving away very quickly. "This is gonna be astral."

Ben grinned back. "I can do it." He waved his hand and the ping pong balls floated into the air. "Being a Jedi comes in handy when you've made a giant mess."

Barry blinked. "I didn't realize you're a telekinetic," Barry said watching the balls floating around. "And what the fuck is a Jedi? Is that slang for something?"

"Shorthand for diplomat-warrior with astral mind-control powers," Ben said with a little grin. "Though I'm kind of out of the Jedi...ing--" frown, as he was pretty sure that wasn't a word, "--thing. I live in a different galaxy now than the one I grew up in."
