7 Ways to Annoy Anakin Skywalker, Monday, Period 1

Bel had two children with him for the class this time, a girl of around five, and a wee two-year-old boy. Why someone would allow Bel to supervise children was a mystery, but he was surprisingly great with kids.

Possibly because he was channeling his inner 12-year-old with this class.

"We've got special guests for this class," he said. "Think of it as a continuation of our last class -- and incidentally, Emma, Cosette, you two get the points for finishing the assignment. Now, since you've had practice now with The Forbidden Song, you're going to teach it to these two adorable children so they, too, can serenade their father. Meet Juliet and Chris."

Both children looked slightly confused as to what was going on, but their mother was hovering nearby to supervise, so they were just going to go with it.

But Anakin was probably sensing a disturbance in the Force about now....

Emma had woken up in the trooper station. Now she was gleefully anticipating Bel's horrible demise.

Bel made sure to give bantha bells to Juliet and Chris. "Your daddy will looooove to hear you play these," he snickered.

Rory was there, alternately feeling like she was totally betraying her husband, omg and like these were grown men who were still acting out a high school rivalry, so whatever.

Most of her time, though, was spent cueing the kids -- making faces at Chris, shaking her head no at requests for treats, and one notable, "Lorelai Juliet!" when someone got squirrely enough to start lifting a chair with the Force.

So basically, nothing was different.

"I think it's important for our children to be exposed to a wide variety of people and cultures," Rory offered innocently. "And songs."

Which was really her driving force behind lots of things.

It said something about how far Anakin had matured that he didn't stalk off to sulk and punch things. Instead he sighed, rubbed the bridge of his nose and gave Rory a tiny smile. "Of course you did."

"It'll make a nice change from Disney?" Rory offered cheerfully, as Christopher shrieked out a "BUNNY FOOFOO!"

Not sang. Shrieked.

"Plus," she added, "I was asked nicely."

Anakin snorted. "I didn't know Bel knew how to ask nicely."

"I know! That's why I had to carpe diem. That'd be like ignoring a unicorn," Rory replied, nodding.

Anakin gave her one of his best "oh, please" looks (and he'd had a lot of practice with those looks, thanks to Ahsoka, Juliet, and Chris) and snorted again. "So this was really for Bel's benefit."

"Anakin, he might not ask for anything nicely ever again," Rory said, giving him her very best look-at-my-huge-eyes-and-give-me-what-I-want look.

(She had had lots of practice from...well, being married to him for six years.)

Chris was whacking his bantha bell onto the ground with the kind of vigor normally associated with Hulk impressions.

"If he's so interested in babysitting, he should show up on the weekend with all the kids," Anakin grumbled.

"Great idea," Rory decided, nodding. "You should tell him that. And then we can...be not here, for that."
