"Okay, field trip! Everybody got your ID's?"

In this case: London. And the Hammersmith Apollo theater.

"Okay, guys. Today's challenge: get into that theater to see Kate Bush in concert. You can pay for your ticket. Or, you can do what I'm doing, and sneak in the back." Kenzi looked pleased. "Or if you hate Kate Bush, you heathens, you can wander around inside or outside the theater until it's time to go."

Eh. Sparkle could take or leave Kate Bush and her music. Her voice kind of grated on his nerves, so he really only listened to her in small doses.

Now, seeing if he could sneak into the backstage area, to see what kind of setup they had in here? Sparkle was all over that.

Sneak in? Please. Raven didn't need to sneak.

She used her phone to look up Kate Bush, then found herself an unobserved corner to shift. If she showed up looking like the singer herself, they'd have to let her in, right?

Okay, so the look she called up ended up being a little dated. All these future fashions looked alike, okay?

sneak sneak sneak sneak sneeeeak... the neat thing about sneaking in is you get to see the concert from backstage. If you can manage not to get caught.

Kaylin was more than willing to attempt the sneaking in thing. Of course, she didn't exactly blend so the odds of her getting caught were fairly high.

"'Ere, wot's this?" demanded one of the roving security guards as he caught sight of Kaylin.

(The blending was a matter of opinion; he'd seen weirder. But hey, he was getting paid!)

"Lemme see your pass."

"I don't even understand what you said."

Kaylin turned back to continue watching the show.

"Are yoooo Amurrican?" demanded the guard. "ID!" Really, you couldn't misinterpret that, could you?

"Amurrican?" Kaylin made a face at him. "I think not. I'm Elantran and I was sent here by Lord Grammayre to observe and let me tell you, if you'd like to take your life and your job in your hands, by all means try and stop someone from obeying one of his direct orders. I'm not about to do that, thank you very much, I value my life, but please, go find him and ask him whether I'm supposed to be here or not."

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a job to do."

What? The Hawklord had sent her to Fandom and picked out classes for her, and told her she had to do well and pass them and that meant that she was supposed to be here, right? Or at least arguably.

Okay, that had the guard confused and a little intimidated, since the fun of being low man on the totem pole was not being able to piss off the upper class types.

"Riiiiiight," he drawled slowly. "Oi'll just... be over here."

"Yes, yes, whatever," Kaylin said, waving him away. "You wait over there or whatever you need to do and let me finish my observing."

She was quite cheerful again. It wasn't quite as fun as making the Bothan gardeners thing she might be careless enough to accidentally hack down their gardens, but still... Kenzi would appreciate it.

Cecil was there! And perfectly willing to sneak.

If bouncing and grinning helped sneak.

"Duuuuude. What kind of shoes are you wearing?"

Cecil looked down at his perfectly normal footwear. "Um. Just my regular summer shoes. Why?"

"Shininess," Kenzi complained. "Squeakiness. Take 'em off. Carry 'em. We are being covert."

"But, um..." With a sigh, Cecil started taking them off. "I can put them back on for the concert, right?"

"Yes, once we have a good spot, the shoes can be shown off," Kenzi agreed, then grinned. "You got a preference for wings or flies?"

Cecil frowned up at her, confused. "Can you fly without wings?"

Kenzi opened her mouth, paused, then pointed upward to the top of the state. "Flies." Then sideways, both ways. "Wings. Theater thing. And I bet someone, somewhere can fly without wings. We should track them down after the concert."

"Oh! Right." He rolled his eyes at himself. "Mavis could float, and the glow cloud sort of...hovers? But I don't know about actual flying."

He finished taking off his shoes and tied the laces neatly together. "Is that better?"

You could see his neon-green socks much better now, anyway.

Kenzi gave them a mournful look. Well. At least they were *audibly* quiet, even if they were visually very loud.

"Yup. Better. Ish." She crouched down and looked around, unable to control her excitement. Eeee!

Cecil grinned and crouched down next to her in as small a ball as he could make. "Now what?"

"Hmm. Look for a ladder... And if not a ladder a crowd, and -- oh!" Kenzi nearly clapped her hands. "We're with the crew helping set up, if we get caught!"

Admittedly, a little harder to buy on Cecil with his socks than on Kenzi in all-black, but still!

For most concerts maybe, but this was Kate Bush. The more ~~eccentric~~ PERFECTLY NORMAL he was, the better!

"Got it!"

There was, in fact, a set of black-garbed back-stage people-- and some guys who were obviously dressers or make-up artists or costumers hanging out too. Kenzi slid into the shadows, motioning for Cecil to join her.

Backstage passes! About to be lifted! If they could do this part!

Cecil followed her as sneakily as possible.

What? He could totally do sneaky!

Kenzi managed to get one backstage pass from a guy with a pink faux-hawk, and one from a girl with a headset.

Woooo!

"Okay, now we just gotta find a good place to hang out..."

Or nominate yourself and put on a nametag with TEACHER'S AIDE on it as a way to get into the theater.

Pfft, no, she won't make you do this. But she hopes you enjoy London for four hours until it's time to go!

I'm going afk now, but if you want to have a security guard catch Kaylin, feel free. She's having fun terrorizing unsuspecting people though, so be warned!
