Dance- Monday- 2nd period

It was the same setup as last week in the Danger Shop, but if you heard the clacking on the floor as Kitty stepped in front of everyone, you miiiight recognize what you were doing today.

"Okay, on the floor for warmups," she said, getting down herself. And as they did their stretches, the continued, "We're doing tap today, which I'm sure you know as the really noisy dance, but the noise is part of what makes it fun. It also looks pretty showy, but there's a secret to it: there are really just a few basic steps that they change around into different routines and add style to. And as soon as we finish up here you're going to put on your Danger Shop-supplied shoes and get to learn how to start doing that."

Ha! Okay, Sparkle could do this. Well, he was pretty sure he could do this. He had clickyfeet and a love of this sort of dance, so if nothing else, his enthusiasm would carry him through, right?

... That was how it worked?

Stomp, step, flap...

Stamp, stomp, brush-step-flap. Stamp, stomp, brush-step-flap.

This wasn't easier than ballet, particularly, but Alana enjoyed it more. Something about getting to make noise while she danced made the whole project even more enjoyable.

Shuffle, ball change, hop, cramp roll.

In a lot of ways, this was easier on Rapunzel than the ballet had been -- there was much less danger of getting tangled up in her hair, at least.

The clicky sounds the shoes made (and the unnaturalness of wearing shoes in the first place) made it really fun for her, though, even if her steps weren't exactly right.

Oh god, it was so bouncy. Sparkle could suck at this and he'd still be having a blast at it. And okay, he screwed up the steps more than a few times, just because there were a lot there to remember even if it was kind of repetitive for a lot of it, but all the shuffling around and still keeping a hop in his motions was way too damn much fun all the same.

Fred Astaire, eat your heart out.
