"Hihihi, Everypony!" Pinkie greeted once everyone seemed to be settled in and class was due to start. She paused after, her eyes sneaking sideways, then deflated just a little as she remembered she was teaching this class all by herself while her Fandom bestie was off, she didn't know, being grumpy somewhere or something.

It was very sad.

Nothing kept a good Pinkie down for long, though, and she bounced right back up with a big grin for her new batch of students. "I'm Pinkie Pie, and I'm here to teach you all about friendship through the magic of fun and games! Before we get started: yes, I am a pony. Yes, I also talk. And dance and sing and throw the bestest ever parties! No, we don't have any humans where I'm from, most folks on this island still look super weird to me and what is up with no one controlling the weather? I tell ya what, winter might not always get wrapped up on time in Ponyville, but it sure as heck doesn't hang around for an extra month! And the pegasus weather schedulers always make sure we get a proper spring and not too much rain. You humans have got to look into your system!"

She paused again, eyes sneaking sideways. This would be when Derek usually would reign her in.

Alas.

"Anyhoo! I digress! You're all here for fun and games and we need to get started already!" She sprung up on her hindlegs and flung her front hooves into the air, showering the classroom with confetti and streamers.

And, yes, glitter.

"Today's the first day, and Fandom tradition says that means we're gonna do introductions! But Pinkie tradition says we should have something sweet to go with them, so we're going to play the candy introduction game. Doesn't that sound like fun?!"

It'd better. Don't make her make you do fun drills, people. Pinkie took her fun times very seriously.

"Ooo, and if anypony wants to be a TA, I have a spot open!"

Despair at the lack of grumpy temperance

Pinkie passed around a bag of candy. "Everypony take some candy! But don't eat it yet! Tell us your name, and then depending on what you pick, that's what you'll tell us about yourselves!"

She pointed at the board with a yardstick, where instructions were written:
Chocolate bar = a favorite song
Chewy caramel = a favorite vacation spot
Hard fruity candy = most likely to _____
Licorice = a dark fear
Marzipan = a weird trait
A rock = wild card

"A rock?!" Pinkie said. "Who put rocks in here?!"

No, really, anyone who wants the TA job can have it. I forgot to advertise in advance.

There there, Pinkie Pie. There there.

Barry Ween

Barry pulled out the fruity candy and shrugged."I'm Barry and I'm most likely to blow shit up."

Alex Mack

"I'm Alex," Alex said once she ended up with the marzipan, "uh...I guess I like to wear hats a lot,"

It seemed the most normal of her weird traits.

Andros

"I don't know what this is," Andros admitted, holding up the piece of licorice he'd just pulled from the bag, "but my name is Andros."

Someone please help the alien.

"Ooo, that's licorice! Some people really like it and some people really hate it, so you should try it and see which person you are! And also tell us one of your fears."

Andros took a tentative nibble of the licorice to buy time. "I think I hate it," he concluded, and, now that he couldn't really put it off any longer and had thought of the least depressing option to share with total strangers, "I fear failure."

"Explosions can be fun!" Pinkie said. "Do you make fireworks?"

"Ooo, and they're super cute, too! But I'm not sure why that's weird."

"Okidokiloki!" Pinkie said. She held out the candy bag. "You can try another kind if you want to. Since you hated the licorice."

"I can," Barry said cautiously. "But they usually don't contain glitter."

Seriously. He was covered in the stuff.

"That's alright," Pinkie said. "Fireworks sparkle enough without glitter added. It would pretty much just catch fire and smell funny."

She was totally reasonable about her glitter, okay? TOTALLY. REASONABLE.

IF DEREK WERE HERE THERE WOULD TOTALLY BE LESS GLITTER!

"You're not asking me to make fireworks for class are you?" Barry asked carefully. "Because I thought this class was about friendship."

Plus the idea of giving Pinkie access to fireworks seemed like a BAD idea.

IT'S ADORABLE HOW YOU THINK DEREK HAS A TEMPERING INFLUENCE ON THE LEVEL OF GLITTER IN A CLASSROOM.

"Fireworks are super-fun," Pinkie said. "And making things for friends is a generous thing to do, which is one of the Elements of Harmony that make friendship magic." In other words, you're wrong, Barry Ween. "But you don't have to make anything you don't want to, I have plenty of my own fireworks, already."

Also, she could turn into one if she really had to.

"Okay, then. Is every week going to be filled with confetti and glitter?" Barry asked as he tried to get said glitter and confetti out of his hair.

Pinkie considered that question seriously. "Probably only if I get really super excited," she said. "Or if we throw a party."

Parties weren't parties without confetti and glitter.

"And just how often do you throw a party?"

"Whenever I find an excuse," Pinkie said. "I'm kind of the party pony."

Just look at the balloons on her flank.

"No, it's all right," Andros said. "This is the one I picked, and fair's fair."

"Are you suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure?" Pinkie asked, waving the candy bag in what she was sure was a tempting motion. "I have plenty!"

Scott McCall

Scott ended up with a caramel, which gave him a moment's pause because he hadn't exactly been on a lot of vacations... but then he remembered the spring break trip. Surely that counted. "My name's Scott," he shared, "and, uh, I like when the school took us to Bali over spring break?"

"That did sound super fun!" Pinkie said. "Are you hoping for somewhere special next time the school does a trip?"

Paddra Nsu-Yeul

Yeul pulled out the chocolate bar and looked thoughtful. "I do not think I have a favourite song," she admitted.

"Do you have a favorite story? Or a poem?"

"Well, I usually always wear them and some people back home think that's weird," she offered, she usually seemed to get asked why she was always wearing a hat quite often.

"One of my bestest friends always wears a hat. I don't think it's weird at all!"

Zomg no crying from the pink pony! No!

But she does it so well!
