Self-Expression- Monday- 4th period

"Hey, guys, and welcome to your last class of the semester," Kitty greeted everyone. "I decided not to give you guys a final, A) because half the semester was insane and not everyone was really themselves for all of it and that makes things really weird, and B) it's hard to grade you on whether or not you're expressing yourselves when you know how you're doing better than I do. But I do want you to take a minute and just on a sheet of paper, write down how you honestly think you're doing at this whole expression thing and if you think there's anything you need to work on. You don't even have to put your names down if you don't want to.

"And then we're going to watch Space Battles. You've been a great class, thanks for not making me give anyone detention, and I hope you learned something."

Sure, he needed to work on some things such as not being an emotionally stunted manchild but otherwise, he was good!

Karina's answer to the whole expression thing was short, to the point, and honest as far as it went.

I do well when I want to. I should probably work on my tact.

But she so rarely wanted to work on her tact.

Will chewed on the end of his pen for a few seconds before answering the question.

Better than I was when I got here. Still have work to do though especially when it comes to my past.

Bay drew a self-portrait of herself at her easel, flowering plants and vines growing out of the urban landscape surrounding her.

In small neat print at the bottom, she added, I think I'm doing okay.

Cecil's contribution was, "I enjoy expressing myself. I think I'm pretty good at it."

I'm succeeding more at using my words than my actions. I am connecting to other people. I need to get better at understanding my feelings, so that I can express them.

It was short, but it summed up what Eleanor needed to say.

Watching a movie for the last class of the semester? Sounded good to Jim!

Karina wasn't going to complain about getting to watch a movie for her last class of the semester, nope!

She settled in and even paid some attention to it instead of playing on her phone.

Will was perfectly fine with watching a movie for the last class. He wasn't even sure if he'd ever seen this either so he'd be paying attention.
