Anakin was typing as angrily as someone texting with two thumbs onto a comlink could when the class arrived. People were being Wrong on the Internet about The Amazing Race, Anakin's favorite show, and that couldn't be allowed to stand...and Rory had taken a hard line years ago about giving people migraines by thinking very hard at them. Typing in all caps was all he had left.

"Sometimes people are stupid and wrong," Anakin began, finally looking up, "and no amount of sweet talking will fix that. Today you have three scenarios to work through: one online, one using a telephone, and one in person. Think of this as prep for your final exam: break some truth to these people."

He went back to texting. Angrily.

People think that This Team should win, when This Team is suuuuuuper irritating and shrill and whiny. And people who are supporting This Team can't spell worth a damn. Clearly That Team, the competent ones with the cowboy hats, should win.

Well, she knew how to turn on the computer. She'd learned that much.

That was about where her computer knowledge ended, utterly and completely.

"Problems?" Anakin asked.

Sometimes he still forgot that not everyone had spaceships and internet access.

But Elsa just had to be taught how to use a radio the other week!

"I'm afraid I have no idea what in the world I'm looking at," she confessed, sheepishly. "I mean, I know this is a computer, and... there's something called the 'internet,' but that's about the full extent of it all..."

What did she care about teams and threads and why would anybody want to clear a cookie?

"I don't think these people would even know a troll to see one."

Oh, silly extranet people. Silly, silly people.

Joker created two accounts, one for each side of the argument, and began arguing both points more coherently and cogently than any of the actual forum posters.

Victor went through the boards responding to all the longer posts on This Team with "tl;dr," and replying to the others with spelling and grammar corrections. It was a good day to be a troll.

Jessica's post was simple.

If you want real competition, watch The Challenge on MTV.

She figured that would annoy some people into forgetting their silly argument.

Your friend has stood you up three times for coffee without an explanation. Call 'em up and give them hell.

Or leave a message if you're chicken.

The message Joker left was very passive aggressive, full of things like, "You know, if you're secretly a superhero and have to go save the world every time you make plans, you can tell me..."

Again, Jessica was going the direct route, this time with a text. She figured it would let the bad friend stew a bit and drive them nuts.

3 strikes and you're friend-dumped, Coffee-Late. You're on your own to make things better if you want.

Tell Anakin that he's wearing mismatched boots. To his face.

Mwahaha.

Oh, Cosette would totally do that. She thought of it as a considerate gesture, granted.

"Pardon, Monsieur Skywalker," she said, quietly, so as to not draw undue attention. "But I think you may have had a little bit of a mishap with your shoes today."

"How so?" Anakin asked, eyebrows drawing together.

Cosette hesitated for just a moment while she fought off a faint sense of apprehension; it might have showed as a brief flicker in her otherwise steady expression.

"Well. I could be mistaken, and if I am I'm very sorry," she said carefully. "I'm not up to date on the latest fashions just yet, and of course there are just so many to keep track of around here, everyone coming from so many different places and times as they do. It's just that you seem to have two completely different boots on, that's all."
