Mindy's outfit today featured a lot of red plaid, which made sense if you remembered where she had been last week... and the fact that Mindy didn't know her geography very well.
"Okay, guys," she said brightly once everyone had arrived. "Today is the day you have all been waiting for. We will be delivering babies."
Sure enough, the room looked like a delivery room, and there were patients already ready and waiting courtesy of the Danger Shop.
"Now, there is actually less to this than you might think, especially if you've seen those movies about how much goes into the whole 'shooting it out' process. But you do need to be able to understand the readings on the monitor just in case anything weird happens, and you also need to be pretty good at remaining calm in the face of blood, fainting dads, et cetera."
She took a while to explain epidurals and other anesthesia and when they would and wouldn't be appropriate, then explained what the students were able to see on the monitors by the hospital beds.
"Now you get to try," she said brightly. "Go wash your hands and change into some scrubs in the side room, then come back and do your deliveries in pairs or groups of three."
